I will avoid the video and wait until March to hopefully see it first hand and without spoilers.

But if it could anything like the Na'vi River Journey...I'll bring my travel pillow just in case.

People are still getting to ride. It’s a virtual queue. They are still waiting 10 hours just not trapped in line.

I think the virtual queue is actually better because then you can go on other rides or make FP reservations for them instead of waiting all day in line.

I am actually ROTR'ed out. Up since 3am, got to ride four times (one breakdown on first ride). Time to sleep.

People, this ride is INSANE. Very well done, super immersive. Blows MFSR (and frankly most every other ride) away. SWGE is now complete. Well done, Disney. Bravo.

How did you ride 4 times? Keep getting back in during your window, or, getting a new boarding group after each run (not counting the shut-down and re-entry)?

If RotR pulls in crowds like it appears it will (due to excellent execution), and if SW9 does well at the box office (time will tell), then SWGE will receive a Phase 2 expansion.

I believe you, but I'm always fuzzy on the whole expansion logic. Some folks say "Chapek will loosen purse strings if it looks like SWGE isn't pulling them in - it's too big to fail" while others say "If it's a big enough hit, they'll spend more until it doesn't return." I don't really see how you can have it both ways.

So 10 hour waits are a failure... but people got to ride. But shutting down the line completely 30 minutes after opening isn’t?

Yes because at least Disney didnt keep people waiting in a queue while the ride had downtime. They could do other things which was not the case with Hagrid’s. Universal implemented a virtual queue the next day which shows they very well could have done that the first day. But noooooo they gotta have that 10 hour wait headline.

Just a guess from reading the posts (not OP, I think they are asleep). They got in line first in the in the morning by entering a low number boarding group (1 or so). As soon as they got in line, they joined another boarding group (maybe like 12-15). Got on the ride (Ride 1), but it broke down while on it. Because of breakdown was given 2 Fastpasses. Once the ride came back up, used the 2 fastpasses, both for RotR (Ride 2 and 3). By that time their second boarding group was ready (Ride 4).

So has the ride gone down since the early morning evac?
Considering it went down yesterday afternoon and stayed down until today, I hope it works! That’s plenty of time to fix the problems. WDI warned everyone this attraction wouldn’t be ready for December, but Chapek and Iger insisted on opening this to coincide with Episode IX (which marketing is now burying under the Child and the Mandalorian).

But

All criticism of Chapek and the new trilogy aside, we want this attraction to be successful! It’s the first thing built at this scale in WDW since...possibly the years of TOT and Test Track.
