I'm laughing at how people are "shocked" that Rise is having some breakdowns/evacs. Have y'all not been around for Disney E-Ticket openings before? Almost all of them have reliability issues in the beginning.
Except those are quickly worked out with operations. ROTR still has Imagineering involved bug fixing. I don’t know why people just want to give Disney a pass on something that isn’t ready.

wait...A Lightsaber Battle? I have to look this up.

Makes sense to have side entertainment if the ride goes down, more drones, more actor duels, walk around, enhanced music, fireworks and likely $25 baby yodas by Saturday.

Never forget "the jungle book: alive with magic". Talk about filler-meh entertainment.

Nonetheless sounds like an opening that's par for the course with competitor parks. So I figure ops will be happy.

Just received a call.

"Opening going better than expected. Guest reviews are exceptional."

it’s an amazing ride I’m sure. But

Front page Drudge and other news outlets story today is Disney’s $1 Billion ride breaks down 18 minutes after opening.

The Twitter morons have tweeted.

Except it hasn't really gone down much.. Honestly I'm waiting for the day when you say one nice thing about Disney.

Racers' breakdowns when it opened in 2012 we not Ops issues they were tech issues, same for Indy. I'm not saying Rise was 100% ready to open today in WDW, it wasn't, but breakdowns for E-Tickets on opening day, and in the first few months are normal.

Well page rankings show it is the third highest clicked news site behind MSN and Google News. So I guess some morons do.
The vast majority of the press has been positive. Drudge is known for his sensationalistic headlines. No matter what happened today he would have put up a negative headline. If it had been flawless but still closed down the boarding groups once they filled up he would say "Paying guests refused entry on Rise of the Resistance".

Let’s not forget the downtime Escape From Gringotts saw years earlier. Everyone was very quick to defend Universal for “raising the bar” back then!

Sounds like a comment from someone who's never been involved in building a complex system.
Isn't that what QC is suppose to do? Find bugs and have them fixed during months and years of testing? For it to break down instantly shows that someone didn't do their job properly.
