Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance

Really nice to see their at least organized. Yes the situation that it will probably be plagued with constant downtime sucks but at least that’s only temporary (I hope) reminds me of when FOP opened.

...that being said how does the boarding group business work? I’m going on January 16th so I may have to utilize it. Same as virtual queue for land or separate all together?

Glasses drop-off at Star Tours. I think some Cast Members may have been diverted today. 🤔 There seemed to be hundreds of CMs at Galaxy’s Edge this morning.

I am actually ROTR'ed out. Up since 3am, got to ride four times (one breakdown on first ride). Time to sleep.

People, this ride is INSANE. Very well done, super immersive. Blows MFSR (and frankly most every other ride) away. SWGE is now complete. Well done, Disney. Bravo.

So people in boarding groups can ride as many times as they want during their window?

Seriously ?

Seriously ***?
Not 100% sure about him, but I saw someone on twitter who was part of the original evac that got more than one return fastpass per person due to the downtime so possibly that? They were also giving out FPs to those that hadn't yet ridden but were in the queue so I would guess theres something to remove people from boarding groups after entering the line. That parts speculation though, haven't seen or heard anything as to how that part of the virtual queue works

If RotR pulls in crowds like it appears it will (due to excellent execution), and if SW9 does well at the box office (time will tell), then SWGE will receive a Phase 2 expansion.

When you enter the park you use the MDE app to request a boarding group. You will then receive a message when you can get in the physical line for the ride. Today the boarding group is only being used for the ride, you can freely enter the rest of the land.

On the day the land opened the boarding groups were used for a couple hours and have not been used again until today. You very well might not need them in January.

How did you ride 4 times? We were initially in boarding group 18, but when it was our turn just before 7:00 the ride broke down and we got a FP. We immediately got a new boarding group and got 61 for the afternoon. We waited for about an hour and when the ride came back up around 8:00 we were among the first to get back on with the FP. When we got out at 8:22 our group 61 was gone and now we have group 124 for this evening. How did you manage to ride it 4 times?!

When your pod launches, it moves around a bit during the flight up. And... When your pod drops off the Star Destroyer you get a brief weightless sensation, not unlike ToT.

Rise of the Resistance: So sleek. So sterile. So boring.

Now if we heard/saw Han yelling at Chewie to fix something on the Falcon, and Leia making sarcastic remarks, and Vader showing up to stare us down and wield his lightsaber, this thing might be kinda fun. But as it is, despite the dollars spent on this attraction (that would have been put to better use fixing the damn yeti and/or upgrading Pan or Pirates or cloning the excellent-looking Beauty and the Beast ride from Tokyo), it's still a snore IMO.
Yeah, it should have been based on the Muppet Show's Star Wars episode with the Pigs in Space Crew helping out Luke, Chewie and the Droids fight Dearth Nadir

Unless you can't get a Fastpass, and they're subjected to a longer Standby line.

Certainly. But given how much capacity goes to Fastpass, I'm willing to take my chances.

But given what @marni1971 and others have said about the reliability problems and rushed nature, the problems are not limited to opening day and will extend past it for at least a while.

This was an intentional decision to open a not ready ride.

Can we really say it's rushed at this point? The land was announced over four years ago. As someone else said, Disney is supposed to be the best at this.
