Star Wars Launch Bay coming to Disney's Hollywood Studios later this year

There's likely to be a snack bar like watto's grotto had. Basically just cupcakes, cookies and frozen alcoholic beverages.
This is an issue I have with Disney Parks and Star Wars, they don't even try to have "space" food. It doesn't help that there aren't really any foods mentioned in the films. Whereas Harry Potter mentions Butterbeer and Chocolate Frogs in the film so you want to see those items in the park.

If Disney do actual offer a proper Star Wars food venue, what food should feature that would have been eaten on Tatooine or Naboo?

Aunt Beru served blue milk on Tatooine..

you really can't see what Lando was serving in the Cloud City.. but it would probably translate to a signature dining experience (until Vader and his minions kidnap you and freeze you in carbonite)

The Ewoks were prepping to serve rotisserie Jedi.

Luke had some sort of beef jerky food that Yoda stole from him; later Yoda made a stew that he gave to Luke.

There was also the diner that Obi-Wan visited in Ep II.

It would be hysterical if the new Jedi star (apologies for not knowing any of the new characters yet, I'm waiting) has an obsession with constantly eating, much like Rusty in Ocean's Eleven.

There are tons of great Star Wars foods ideas. They might not come directly from the movies but they are Star Wars inspired. I found a whole cookbook when I was planning a SW party. Wookie Cookies, anyone? How about some Yoda Soda? Edible Lightsabres?

One light sabre please. I'll step aside and let others take the wookie cookes. Those just don't sound very appetizing :cautious:

Except those are the sort of rubbish ideas Disney are looking at, even calling the venue Admiral SnAckbar. They are all just silly puns. If an area is meant to be an immersive environment it should feature the same things as you would find on those planets. Harry Potter is leading the way on this as JK Rowling wouldn't accept Universal just doing silly pun naming of food. Or you can go to the Simpsons area and drink Duff beer, a clogger burger or a Flaming Moe. If Disney were doing Simpsons I guess you would have Barts Tarts, Lisa Pizza and so on.

I appreciate what you are saying but what foods come from the SW movies besides blue milk? What are you thinking they should serve?

Thats kinda my very first point, there isn't much mentioned in the films and I am not an expert in the Star Wars world to suggest things. But someone at Lucasfilm must be able to come up with ideas that fit in with the Star Wars world, rather than just cute names for cupcakes and cookies.

I think that Pandora will be an interesting test case for that. Will the food offerings be "authentic" food from Pandora that the Na'vi might eat or will it be normal food with puns?

I don't have high expectations: Chicken nuggets still taste like chicken nuggets no matter what you call them.
