Yes they are working and yes it is a neat effect. Only negative is the group of people surrounding it when you go to get water lol.

Isn’t the creature triggered by the datapad app? It reminds me of the random spectators at SotMK portals who just watch me and my wife play. I’m always thinking... “Why watch? You can make
It happen just as easily!”

So I should cancel all my upcoming trips, throw my AP and DVC deed in the garbage and then set myself on fire cos some people here didn’t get to build their own Star Wars land and don’t like the one they got?

Me, any time I click on the Disneyland forum.

On a more related note, are those water fountains with the creatures in the tube above them working, and is it a neat effect?
It was working when we were there on Sunday, and it’s neat. It’s pretty much the first thing on your left when you enter the marketplace.

Actually it's just the opposite. Continue to spend all of that money on a creatively inferior project and be happy. That's the entire Disney/WDI strategy and you've articulated it perfectly. Be sure to save up those DVC points to come out west and see Pixar Pier and Jack Jack on a Stick! It's wonderful!

Great to see Al Lutz's name at the top of a MiceChat article. Some great info on Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge... https://www.micechat.com/233418-miceage-disneyland-rumor-update-promising-the-moon/

Wow.
That's some article.
I have hope that at least in WDW, Disney will add in much needed human performers, droids etc., and that the opening of RotR will bring life to an empty half of the park - and hopefully the ride will live up to its promise. Though unfortunately, due to the things Disney cut and left out - there is far more weight on the shoulders of RotR than there would have been.
Damned bean counters.
It's always the bean counters.

“The initial response and reviews speak for themselves. The panic in TDA this summer is real.
Huge crowds didn’t show up, not even modest crowds showed up, and TDA and Burbank have been scrambling since June 1st to respond to the light summer demand and underwhelmed customer response to the new land. “

I cannot properly express how much happiness I feel reading an update from Al Lutz.

Edit: Oh, and this one's juicy. Darn work is getting in the way of my reading, though, I'll finish it later.

That article pretty indicative of how out of touch they are with the "why" behind people's love for the parks. They think they can cut things back to bare bones and we'll still throw money at them...which they should now be learning isn't true.

That's obviously incorrect, it has been established on this board that there are only 3 people who are critical.

Yeah... it’s sad. Love the idea of the interactive drones and droids and street entertainment.
Well, apparently it’s now showing on the bottom line.

The loss of the C-Ticket family friendly ride is a real bummer. I really feel like the land is lacking something for the younglings under 40" tall. And that map of the track seems like it'd make total sense with the DHS version as well.

They could easily add all the interactive elements back and build out the full TSR. But I don't think they'll be able to justify the ROI of adding a C-Ticket. If a third ride is ever added to DHS it'll need to be D-E level to create the necessary marketing hype.

Just finished reading Al's article. Wow. WOW. $hapek cut out a LOT of things from the original proposal. Double-digit attendance drop for DL this summer. SVP at DL hired to monetize "as much of the park experience as possible".

And... Mumbai Disneyland?

The other thing Al mentions that I've argued for quite a while - that they may have finally found their price ceiling and that $149 may be too high.
