And all it takes is one slow-down for the buggy room to become jammed pack with guests with the CM screaming for us to fill in non-existent spaces because, for some reason, they can't hold guests back from the stretching room for just one cycle.
Why did operational issues like we see on Mansion now only appear after 30+ years? I understand there are confounders here like the uptick in those using wheelchairs and scooters.

There were many growing pains at HM when fastpass+ was first implemented at the mansion. But there are strategies and adjustments that have made it easily possible to get enough guests into the foyer. The foyer and stretch rooms do not need to be full as their capacity far exceeds the capacity of the attraction itself. No changes were made to the timing of the foyer or stretch rooms to accommodate fastpass.

I remember HM having operational issues well before FP+. I don't think it's anything new. I do think FP+ along with massively increased attendance have exacerbated some of those issues particularly in Mansion's case. But I've been logjammed post-stretching room far more often than I've seen empty Doom Buggies...

I agree it’s a big problem with no clear solution other than purpose-built loading like TSM.


Perhaps they should be a bit stricter about loading them. I've heard that it's supposed to be one per ride cycle so you should only get one stop on your ride but I think it needs to be at least two cycles per scooter.

Perhaps but making a Make-a-Wish kid wait 40 min to board wouldn’t have the best optics. I understand the issue is more so the uptick in guests who use a scooter due to lifestyle but you can’t really have different standards for them vs. the kids.

What es ME off is when I Standby IASW and there’s a line of families with one person in a scooter and they continuously fill up Standby boats with their entire families while FP keeps loading. Maybe the whole family should wait in Standby while Grandma and one companion waits at the exit, joining the family when they arrive. RFID should make that possible.

Unless you can absolutely know what particular problem that person has, it cannot be done. Like everything else it can be a problem or it can be just the way life is sometimes. Tell you what to do... every time you see one of those people with a scooter instead of looking down your noses at them, you imagine yourself needing one of those. It will change your whole outlook and remind you that it takes only seconds to be in need of one. Be careful how you all judge others, karma can be very mean.

Make-a-Wish kids aren't an issue and should be given extra care of course. They aren't the ones abusing the #scooterlife

No need to be sensitive but there are people definitely abusing them. The other Disney parks around the world do not have this issue. I have yet to see a scooter outside the US. Disneyland does have them but it's like 20% of WDW. What makes WDW special?

You would be surprised if you actually knew how few were using them without a need. Disneyland is in California and that isn't a place where people retire so, I'm sure that the numbers are smaller, not to mention the attendance is smaller. Also it doesn't cover the area that WDW does, so that isn't comparing apples to apples.

If they said only one scooter per two cycles there would be large numbers of guests who would be unable to experience the attraction.
