That’s the berm. Expect any expansion to go to the south east of the boat ride.

random aside i always find the africa to pandora path very long it seems like theres nothing for a bit would have been nice to have something small aesthetically over there like how the main entry has the tickler.

Exactly. Maybe doing really awful triggers something fun like Jar Jar having to come and give an assist because you're just so bad at flying (Yousa even more bombad!) Everyone will have the same length of experience no matter what. Just as there's likely a better way to play, maybe there's a worst which can also be a goal. That's the magic of interractive storytelling. Different experiences doesn't have to mean some are all that better than others. Trying to do everything just right actually sounds more stressful and less about having fun and taking it all in.

In the new canon, Jar Jar is a broke street clown who's been basically shunned by everyone.

I still am not convinced that these ambiance characters will last more than a few weeks, if they ever get out. Guests will think that they are entitled to interact with them through photos, selfies, whatever...and they will soon disappear.

I sadly agree. Unfortunately it'll probably be 3-5+ years before congestion has lessened to a point suitable for anything in any corner of SGE to remotely resemble "ambiance". And by then the land will have been so successful without expensive roaming characters that there would be no reason to add them in.

You know, Cars Land is going on 7 years old now and still packed to the brim with FP getting gobbled up for the day before 9am... SWL opening is a blessing for the rest of the other parks ridiculous wait times. I for one would LOVE not to have to waste a FP on things like Soarin or SSE or Test Track or Star Tours (non signature rides).

Quick question regarding the path for the Galaxy Edge Attraction, it looks like that rock ring is solid. How do you get in to where I assume that spaceship that was half buried in rock in the model is?

Still fuzzy on some details, but here's a quick summary of how I think it works:
352362

1: Main entrance which will probably be used as a queue to enter land.
2: Here's something interesting. Looking way back before the tunnel was covered, there was a division on the same side we see this extra entrance. For symmetry, the other side has one large opening flanked by two smaller ones, but I think the one on the left in the photo below actually leads to a smaller tunnel.
352364

I speculate that this may be used as overflow queue for the Resistance ride and will take the line back out of the land. I've also speculated about an area behind muppets and the resistance queue that may also be used for overflow, but haven't seen enough to tell either way.
3: A-Wing?
4: Blue X-Wing photo/meet and greet?
5: Turret/Main Ride Entrance. Standby on left. Fastpass on right. (I'm not sure I have the fastpass path correct, may skew to the right of the rockwork. There were two openings/doorways in the wall there.
6: Stroller Parking? Disneyland has a similar area that doesn't seem to connect to the queue. This could also be used for overflow ride queue if they keep strollers out of the land entirely.
7: Cave entrance which will pass below waterfall.
8: Indoor queue- ruins.
9: Preshow/briefing rooms.
10: Resistance hangar/hideout. This is where we'll see Poe's X-Wing as we board the blue shuttle.
11: First Order Star Destroyer Hanger.
12: Ride Exit.
13: Saviaeson Salvage (gift shop.) This may have it's own exit/entrance from the land.

If I have time, I may put together a better version of this. Some of this I figured out myself well over a year ago, and much was figured out by others on this site (BrianLo and Britain especially). All of it was done with the subtle and not so subtle hints from Martin and the great aerials provided by this site and Bioreconstruct.

Thoughts?

When you're the leader, you don't have to follow.
If I’m remembering correctly - for the first little while at least, the entrance will be through Grand Avenue, and guests will exit into Toy Story Land?

TSL is even going to be more jam-packed than SW:GE. I’d going to be total mayhem! And Woody’s Lunch Box still only has two service windows and very limited seating. 🤦🏻‍♀️

The thought is, much like Pandora at its peak, one way in, one way out of the land with a queue area just to enter. There will likely be long extending queues for the rides themselves. I can see areas that can be used in land, but there may be a need to go all the way back out into the park which would be separate from the main lines just to enter the land.

I’m glad my annual trips are in early September. It’s going to be nuts! MIGHT be almost manageable in September 2020.

Nuts can be fun if you let it be. At the very least, those going right away will have some good stories. I know someone going to DHS in December. I said to be sure to temper his expectations and he said he's planned three days for DHS and if he does one thing in Galaxy's Edge each day he'll be happy. I think that's a good expectation.

By the way, do we know what that backstage building is for, exactly? I haven't seen anyone report a purpose for it. I think a break room facility for a character M&G would make a lot of sense.
I've posted that both here and the Anaheim board, but so far there's been no confirmation. What makes me believe it's true is that you can see a short queue set up by the X-Wing in California and it's right by that mysterious building. I am at least certain there will be meet and greets there, and I'm betting on Nein Nunb being one of them (though what I really want is a Pokins (or his ghost at this point in the timeline.))

I've always wondered why they didn't have Poe Dameron meet with BB-8 in Launch Bay. Maybe he'll finally show up here!

What I don't understand is how can anyone look at the photos and still say.... "Why does it take so long to build the land? Or, Disney is always trying to stretch out the time to make the financials look better." The complexity of those buildings and sets are mind bending. Can anyone imagine just how long it would have taken and the number of blue prints needed to engineer a complex like that one.

I can agree with your sentiment but there are other projects whose timelines have been stretched longer while building detail/complexity is lesser; which can be argued was for the benefit of quarterly/annual financials or marketing.

I'm of the mind that the previous practice of spreading the cost of one big project over many quarters and years only really 'works' to the advantage of the accounting financials if you have just one really big project happening in that time frame. When you have many, many overlapping big projects, that kind of spreading doesn't provide any accounting benefits.

Instead, it seems to me that the driving force of timescales is dictated by when they want the attraction to open, whether immediately as fast as possible (MMRR, Lightning McQueen Academy), or spread out so you can have a big E-Ticket opening each year (SWL >> Ratatouille >> GotG).
