I just took Google Maps screenshots of DHS and Pandora (at the same distance zoom wise), traced the rough outline of GE and put it over Pandora for reference. This is the first time I've actually been worried about the size of GE. Unless something is wrong scale wise, it doesn't look like the actual guest-facing space is much bigger than Pandora.
A little bit of advice: if you go into Google Earth preferences and turn off 3D buildings, it shows much more up to date satellite imagery. 😀

Any news on the rides?

Will the Millenium Falcon use the Soarin/FoP engine?
Please check out the megathread in the main News/rumors forum. It's got everything you would want to know condensed down to manageable bullet points. Or you could scroll through this entire thread.

Just as a short answer to your question, no. It operates on a turntable akin to M:S, but without the G-Forces AFAIK. Just using the turntable to manage loading/unloading while keeping those in a cockpit still playing/riding

Again, check out the main megathread for everything.

So.... Is the general consensus leaning towards a Fall 2019 opening? We are planning a trip this Fall and considering Annual Passes since we will certainly be back for GE, but we're looking at 9/1, which I am now worried may be too early.

Early Fall (September-ish?) to Late Fall (December) has been thrown around. We just don't know yet. Obviously, if you're planning, the later the better.

Thanks!

I would guess that they'd delay til after "hurricane season" into Oct/Nov if they can't open in the summer... we may plan accordingly (meaning delay, or be mentally prepared to renew AP in 2019 :) ).

Hurricane season runs till the first of December. Best bet would be January- cooler weather, somewhat lighter crowds.
