I agree with you guys, I was thinking more ops kinks than construction kinks.
Or scrap it completely.Where I think they could get a benefit is with the guest interaction stuff. They will have a few months to test this stuff out in DL and maybe make changes before DHS opens.
Which is my big fear, because then the “big selling point” of the land, aka total immersion, goes right down the toilet.Or scrap it completely.
I guess they've gone verticalSnapped some pictures heading into DHS tonight
They aren't. Star Tours is gonna be rethemed a couple of years after Galaxy's Edge opens. How are they going to tie Star Tours in with Galaxy's Edge with the Grand Ave. between them?

I've heard they are going to re-theme Star Tours to "Adventures of a Mold Spore". Essentially, we will be shrunken down and taken on a wild journey though an A/C unit that is mounted on top of a gondola ride. Can you imagine! We'll get to experience life as a mold spore!!! Sponsored by Lennox...*sigh
Well here comes this discussion again...
"They're not "
"But that's thematically inconsistent!!!!! "
"No, it's not because SW:GE represents a specific place in time in the SW universe and Star Tours is all over the universe's timeline. "
"But it still doesn't make sense to have a Star Wars ride outside of Star Wars Land!!!!!!!!! "
"Again see above post and Star Tours will be re-themed eventually and the gondolas will not have AC."
"But can't they use the speeders as the entrance to SW:GE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! "
"Not only would that be wildly impractical from the number of guest wanting to get into the land but also that would be forcing people who don't want to ride a thrill ride to, you know, ride a thrill ride. "
"Well that just doesn't make sense and this shows that the Disney company is finished and the parks will be bankrupt before the end of the year... The gondolas need AC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! "
*sigh

Boo Hoo! You're getting a whole star wars land.. but, of course, as usual, that just isn't enough.Realizing, of course:
1) There will inevitably be thematic breaks in SW:GE, so any concept of keeping it pristine by ditching ST is comical.
2) The ST sequences could have been re-worked to be more thematically consistent, if necessary.
3) ST wouldn't have to be the only method of entry in SW:GE, just one possibility. Hogwart's Express isn't the only method of entry into the two HP lands.
This is still a giant missed opportunity at increasing the size, scope, and story of SW:GE.
How they handle this property is very important to many people. JK Rowling had a lot of input on the wizarding world and for good reason. Universal creative did a fantastic job under her watchful eye. I would like Galaxys edge to be just as immersive. I would love to not see coke products, or cheap light saber keychains but they will be there. But there is no one holding them to a high standard so while there is little chance that they will make something unworthy of the star wars name, there is a big chance that some bean counter will have some really bad influence over the project.Boo Hoo! Who says it won't be immersive? That does not hinge on them replacing the old star tours with the new star wars. Now if the plan were to keep it star tours forever, then there might be an argument. Not to mention the fact, but, I will mention it, it is up to you to put yourself in the immersive place. They can give you the suggestions, like building deflective entrances so it hides things beyond the lands, but, you still have to be the one to willingly suspend disbelief. How they handle this property is very important to many people. Thank you for the non jerky answer, makes sense. I figured it was either this or move the guts of the attraction to SWGE after it opens as a kind of SWGE 1.1.They aren't. Star Tours is gonna be rethemed a couple of years after Galaxy's Edge opens.
