So in that same breath, Indy, Beauty and VoTLM should go on for another 20 years too? (Just because the sing-along isn't 20+ years old, but it probably will be shouldn't make a difference). They still fill the seats, guests love them, they're not bad shows. Why not? Yet most want or think they should be replaced, or upgraded. Anyone, I've beat the dead horse.

Let's get back to SWL.
Does Scott Trowbridge and staff have their work cut out for them when comparing what's going on over at DAK with Pandora? One has to admit AvatarLand looks breathtaking - even if you hate the franchise. Disney has to really hit it out of the park with SWL. Disney will be scrambling to expand land over record numbers flick to see it.

DHS will be flooded. I'm expecting opening day Hogsmeade crowds for Star Wars, possibly more. All depending on how many go to see it first at DL vs. how many wait for DHS.

I remember when Disney had the Friday the 13th special event a few years back without it being a up huge special event. Massive backups leading into the park. I guess the one good thing is SWL is located toward the back of the park.

I worry about Disneyland if they open SWL first, which that's where it seems to be headed. They can barely handle large crowds now. For that reason alone I don't understand why DHS couldn't open the land first, or at least truly aim for them to open at the same time. It's going to be a nightmare for Disneyland. JMO.

Getting into the parking garage should be a treat.

The site which cannot be named has posted an aerial video of DHS. Here is the current progress on the battle ride foundation. They have started the excavation of the pit and they have started to form up a couple other foundation elements.

There is something about your statement that is at odds with those pics. Have you seen your optometrist lately?

As of now, shows are up for refurbs, but probably in the wrong order that they should be. BatB was planned for refurb this year with a new show, but that plan was cancelled. Now, DJ is next up, and seems to be cemented in. Then, BatB is back on the schedule, but not until 2018. (Very subject to change). Then VotLM and a possible F! Update. A Frozen Replacement is very low on the priority list.

All is subject to change, but now back to that highly immersive SWE.

Our Utah seems to have a much smaller footprint than the Disneyland version. However, they are exactly the same attraction. Hmmm.

They seem roughly the same size to me. DL's might be a little bigger to compensate for how they are building the foundation walls. DL also has another little section on the right which either hasn't been dug at DHS yet, or was there just to provide construction access since their pit is so deep. Without a Google Earth straight down view it's hard to determine the exact size with any accuracy, but I don't see any reason to believe they are different. You may now feel free to move on to your next conspiracy theory. ;)

Thanks for the information. It's too bad they aren't rushing the B&B and VoTLM replacements. Those probably should have been the first to go down and get replaced before construction on the lands even began, but they still draw a crowd so I guess that's why they don't see them as a priority. I wasn't really suggesting Frozen *needed* to be replaced, was simply comparing TDA to Orlando in that they get a musical and we still have the sing-along. Obviously there are more pressing issues and Frozen isn't one.

So yeah, back to SWL ... lol

I just remember that Nearmap has recent of enough aerials of both to make a comparison. It turns out that DL's is actually a little smaller than the one at DHS. They are both the same length, but there is an 8 to 10 foot difference in the width of both sections. That's a small enough different that it could be written off to differences in construction technique.

Or design. My theory is it won't be nearly as deep as DL and therefore is a simpler design. Did you compare the width before or after they added all the rebar?
