Star Wars Land announced for Disney's Hollywood Studios

Andrew C

You know what's funny?
It's almost as if he's getting paid to bash it or something.

I hate to be mean, but I’m trying to remember anyone else that has continued to bash the same thing with the same argument for months on end. We have some around here who bash a bunch of different Disney decisions from thread to thread. Topic to topic. We have some who are a mixed bag, where they praise some things and criticize other things. Then we have others who love everything. But one specific topic, one land, with the same message over and over. For months? And not drifting into other topics. It is really unusual. Just my personal observation.

Same reason we don't freak out when we don't see actual pixies flying about Fantasyland.

Did you think CMs were going to sit for three hours worth of applied prosthetics like the actors in the movies?

Get over it.
As someone who avoids character meet & greets because I find them awkward, every visit to SWGE I witness or am part of more character interactions than I've ever seen in any other land in all my years in Orlando. I get that entertainment was cut, which does suck, but stating that there's no characters or roaming entertainment because they cut performances is a flat out lie. Who can you meet at WWoHP? The Knight Bus driver and the train conductor... who stand in the same place all day. Yay. WWoHP and Pandora do have live performances, which I agree SWGE does desperately need, but it's clearly only a matter of time before it does get them.

It's rather amazing that one can sustain such hate and disdain on a singular topic for such a prolonged period. Can you imagine the amount of energy expended on maintaining that level of vitriol for this long?

Are you kidding, we haven’t even hit the six month mark of this trainwreck being open! ;)

There are people here still angry about Horizons closing!

I mean it wouldn’t have to be makeup. There’s plenty of species where it’s a suit like any other character wears. I’d LOVE to see aliens walking around to make the place feel more like Star Wars.

Remember, Disney were the ones who said they wanted to set the bar extremely high for this.

Every new day brings another fresh realization of what a horrible missed opportunity Batuu is. Even worse when Disney creates something like Mandalorian proving they still fully understand what Star Wars is, yet still decided to miss the mark so completely in the parks.

When you see an actual “living and breathing” Star Wars land, it just reinforces what a complete joke Batuu is. Bright Suns indeed.
The problem is that characters draw crowds. And crowds block walkways for folks such as me who abhors characters that draw crowds and block normal pedestrian traffic. Characters should always be sequestered. Disney fans are over the top. They've been known to follow trash cans around at MK and AK.

Yes, and they need to just drop their timeline obsession and have the land be inclusive of all of the Star Wars characters. The only people who would be upset are the ones who have decided the land is already irredeemable.
Let us pray.

Would be an absolute disaster if they did this.
Idk. It would at least be better than having only B listers.

They may be B-listers to you. They aren't for my kids and their friends.

There's many youtube docs on this concept as well.
It also came out directly from Hasbro that Star Wars sales weren’t strong.
Interesting data here @mikejs78. Gives a nice big picture rather than one local Target huh?

Why would it be a disaster? The attractions could be as immersive / specific as anyone could want, but Galaxy's Edge could feature characters from all of the Star Wars series. I enjoy the new films and characters, but it doesn't mean I wouldn't also want to see Darth Vader swanning around or The Mandalorian with a baby Yoda in tow.

The Mandalorian with Baby Yoda would be a M&G I’d wait for.

You can meet Darth Vader in the very same park and buy his merchandise too. The same park also has a stage show, a night time show, and a classic ride dedicated to the OT and there’s tons of merch available for the OT too.

“but I need to see it everywhere! I must be coddled my childhood nostalgia at all times!”
