Star Wars Land announced for Disney's Hollywood Studios

Official info seems very scarce at this point. Still no official clarification of parking lot opening time. I have a feeling they are thinking that it is best not to say anything beyond the park officially opens at 6am.
I spent 2 hrs this morning asking cast members about tomorrow and this is clearly what they are being told to say. No one would give me any information about how tomorrow is going to be handled, when we can park or start to line up

Plenty of storm-troopers. Saw Vi interact with a lot of kids and cosplay adults. Had a neat encounter with a CM, whom I asked about the different style of TIE Fighters. He explained they differences and then quietly said he "preferred the fighters over in the ruins," and then revealed a hidden resistance seal in his ring. I get what Bob Chapek said about the CMs making their own back-stories, and I do appreciate they have done this. I heard it as a mild excuse for the lack of performers, but also a tribute to the dedication and creativity of the CMs.

When you say plenty of storm troopers, how may did you see? I'm not aware of there being more than 2. Hopefully this has changed!

Sorry, should have been more clear. Plenty for us. We did see 6 total. Two passed us, and we saw two more pair off in the distance, each in different directions. It seemed like each area had a pair of storm troopers. Now, this was Sunday evening for Golden Oak and Club 33 member previews (we were guests!) so I don't know if they rolled out more. I actually never saw Chewbacca, though the others in our group did.

During AP preview, they seemed to be everywhere. Kylo came through at least three times with his retinue, and that's just when we were roaming First Order area.

They weren't kidding when they said they were redeploying the March of the First Order troopers to SWL.

When did they stop/reduce randomization in Star Tours? Rode 4 times today. Only saw scenes from TFA and TLJ. Hopefully this will be temporary during the first couple weeks of Galaxy’s Edge. Definitely reduced re-ridability (says the guy who rode it 4 times)

Edit: OK, rode it two more times, for a total of 6. Same three scenes. Asked a CM about it. He was adamant that they are still rotating through all the scenes. So, either he was mistaken, or I should go play the lottery. More data points. Had a conversation with another rider. He had only seen the same three scenes as well. And on one ride, a couple enthusiastic Star Wars fans call out the three scenes before the ride started. Hmmmm.

We say Rey at the passholder preview, sneaking around. I told her that we had seen stormtroopers up ahead and she replied, "Where?" I pointed and she said, "Thank you traveler, I will go the other way." Nice!!

Has that been confirmed? DHS has had a good rapport with the group for years.

That was a horrific dedication. Never tell the crowd what you think they should know. Never try and big it up to the press. And never tell them when they should clap.
Basically, don't look desperate, it's bad for business and everything else. People can smell it a mile away!

Don’t they run through these things and let their PR experts get them show ready? They should learn from Apple’s keynotes.

Also, media isn't there to whoop and cheer like the fans at a fan convention like D23. If you wanted a good response, they should have grabbed some enthusiastic guests and given them a magical preview if they attended the presentation, plus sprinkle a few CMs in disguise.

He was robotic at the press event this morning. Barely moving his upper body, mainly moving his head and hands. It was surreal watching him on the stream, honestly. And the "follow my lead" clapping was sad. The Hondo part at the beginning was better than the parts with Chapek et al.

Walked around Star Wars Land over here in Cali for a bit today. Not really a full exploration but the architecture is very well done from what I’ve seen (expected). I’ll ride the Falcon tomorrow probably. I did just get off my first ever ride of Hyperspace Mountain though and I have to say a brand new roller coaster built with that type of story/tech involved from the start would’ve been absolutely perfect for this land. Maybe my opinion on that will change when I finally experience what the Falcon is like but that’s how I feel now.

Also, it does feel weird not seeing more than Stormtroopers and Chewie walking around when they promised and hyped much more like bounty hunters and aliens.
Going back to this post that I almost completely forgot until now I did explore the shops more yesterday. Very detailed with interesting things to buy. Overall I really like the land but after experiencing it the fact it’s a new planet and not something from the movies seems to have more of an effect than I thought it would. Boarding the Falcon is amazing both times I’ve done it. Hits me very hard in the feels lol. Going around Batuu though is like going around, say, Asia or Africa in Animal Kingdom. Very well done but doesn’t hit me with the extra punch that Hogsmeade or Diagon Alley do.
