So, how does access to the land work if you have an appointment for a droid built at 9am and lightsaber build at 1pm? I assume you can access those two places at least?
You get in 1 hour prior to reservation. No boarding group needed.
And a 2 hour wait.
After 9 hours of park operations....And a 2 hour wait.
And 7 more to go.After 9 hours of park operations....
So you’re satisfied with a small cantina, no restaurant, no third attraction, and little entertainment?
And you’re fine with the idea that the land is trapped in one timeframe to pimp the new movies instead of allowing plenty of SW from the OT, expanded universe, etc.?
The most disappointing part about the last 4 years of construction - and I actually kinda like the Star Wars land - is that after it’s done, we’ll have a really underwhelming toy story land and a Star Wars land that’s not complete.
It’s almost as though you are casting out the OT fans...who of course built the thing, grew it, promoted it, and lined Disney and George’s pockets.
And frankly...provide the cover still to this day that allows George, abrams and Kathy Kennedy to make horrid blunders and mistakes based in ego and a lack of knowledge.
You still see the excitement and anticipation at rope drop at FOP (two years later) from people and families who are riding it for the first time. And the rope drop wait isn't even that long compared to the rest of the day.
Well, the land will ultimately have two rides. That’s the same number of attractions New Orleans Square has, and NOS is maybe the best theme park land ever. But what is there to do in NOS besides the attractions, eat and shop? Just enjoy the ambiance.
Granted, the two rides in NOS are two of the best rides ever built. But that doesn’t change the fact that SW:GE will have two rides also, and RotR will probably be fantastic. So you have the rides, eating and shopping... that’s just pretty par for the course, I guess. Beyond that, you kind of just have to enjoy the theming and ambiance... both of which it seems SW:GE excels at. I like how large the land is, that means there’s more to explore.
I do agree, though, I hope they add more roaming aliens and droids. I’m not holding my breath, though. I’ll still enjoy it without those things, as they aren’t a dealbreaker. But it would have enhanced the experience.
1. Then those are bad decisionsNo, I'm not. But those are budgetary decisions, not creative ones.
Yes, because that adds to the sense of immersion. Wouldn't make sense to have Kylo Ren and Vader walking around in the same land. I love the fact that it is part of the SW universe in a particular point in time. I think that adds to the appeal, at least for me. Besides, it doesn't preclude them from doing other SW stuff in the park or changing things up in the future, or adding another land set in a different time period.
Name a land built in the last 30 years that's complete?
Also, TSL is tons of fun.
,
I can almost sense the disappointment in one or two on here that the day seems to have gone so well.
I agree, Disneyland and Disney World are mostly getting ways for you to spend money that you didn't necessarily need to spend on treats, and souvenirs. I would say why people see GE as a failure is because of the high cost of the "experiences," and the lack of rides without a height limit. That is why NOS is one of the greatest lands in any park, the great atmosphere, the wonderful food, and the two classic attractions with no height requirement. I still love GE, and I would only add another attraction with no height requirement, and more kinetic decorations, read droids/actors/etc., to truly perfect it.
They need a true E...one of 2 Ds...and perhaps a restaurant.
Plus the classic movies - which are inevitable. Why do I say that? First - the land’s fates are tied to episode 9 now. If is isn’t spectacular - then Disney will bleed money and they will go full bore into embracing the classics.
They may do that IF the movie is good anyway. Star Wars can’t become a profit drag. Which means it has to make tons of it.
None of what I ask for eventual updates to the land’s seem unreasonable.
I am curious outside of the lacking options which I agree about. How is the land trapped in one time frame? What in the land could they not change at any point? Characters can be changed, so can video screens or ride footage. The only ride that could not be changed is Rise of the resistance. Also I ask you how is this any different then other rides and attractions being stuck in a certain time due to them being made before or after a movie. So you’re satisfied with a small cantina, no restaurant, no third attraction, and little entertainment? And you’re fine with the idea that the land is trapped in one timeframe to pimp the new movies instead of allowing plenty of SW from the OT, expanded universe, etc.?
Okay.
I know this is the wrong thread and it’s all been discussed plenty of times, so I won’t keep talking about the various choices made here.
Meanwhile, I’m glad to see it’s going to be successful in DHS, because that bodes well for future expansions.
"I love my child unconditionally but they're going down a path that I am disappointed in. And I don't like their spouse, that gold-digger" is the vibe I getIt is an extremely odd relationship that people in here seem to have with the mouse.... part "I know best"parent, part jilted lover - not sure either are very healthy.
I’m glad it’s “gone well”...I can almost sense the disappointment in one or two on here that the day seems to have gone so well.
Boy...you pretty much nailed the dismount there"I love my child unconditionally but they're going down a path that I am disappointed in. And I don't like their spouse, that gold-digger" is the vibe I get
Edit: meanwhile the vibe I get form the other site is one of those "mommy's boy can do no wrong"
I’m kind of surprised you of all people would be clamoring for a restaurant. I say that respectfully, but... don’t you kind of see table service restaurants as a cash grab? Seems like it would just be one more of the many cash grabs to complain about in SW:GE.
Personally, I’m tired of how over-saturated WDW is with overpriced table service restaurants. I’m kind of glad GE doesn’t have one.
