The audio ambiance also seems to be pretty lacking or too subdued.

When I visited GE at DL, I thought the audio ambiance was pretty neat. Sometimes the sounds really made me look up to see if something was flying overhead. And in the resistance forest part, you could here big "animals" stomping through the woods. It sounded as if they could burst through the trees at any moment.
Don't know if it's excactly the same at WDW, but I guess it will be...

Disneyland did do it right. People have their whole lives to see SW:GE... no reason to pack every possible human in right at opening.

People have long complained about Disney’s crowds - then, when Disney actually does something to mitigate the crowds - people label them a failure. Can’t win.

Maybe Disney should just be more like Universal and allow ten hour lines for new rides like there was for Hagrid’s. Now that’s success 🙄.

I'm gonna go ahead and say that if DL could do it all over again, they would do it differently. All signs point to they were not happy with resort attendance as a whole.

That's awesome. I guess the preview vids out there didn't quite do them all justice.

Hogwash. It’s not like people are stuck in a holding pen waiting to enter. You can experience the whole rest of the park, eat, shop, etc.

As for the line, it looks to me like there’s 30-45 minutes of entertainment while you wait with tons to look at, preshows, and more, which in my world means it’s really a 90 minute wait. That’s like the old days.... and keep in mind this truly is the first day for thousands and thousands of Florida based APs...

And a holiday weekend.

In a park with little else to do, SWGE will always look like a victory. Look at the lines for TSMM in DHS versus DCA.
Very true. And that will make it hard to truly gauge how successful it is until a ways down the road. Realistically, this land will go however rise goes. Top attraction in Florida, equals victory for the land and all the praise in the world. If rise ends up underwhelming, I wouldn't say it's a failure, but it will be a disappointment.

You don’t wait. Go elsewhere and wait for the notification.
Oh don't get me wrong - I think the virtual queue is a great idea and good way of managing crowds. My point was more around demand for the attraction - you can't equate the 150min wait time to FoP or Slinky, or Hagrids, because there is a managed system to even get in line. I.e. it's not apples to apples. That was my only point.

The way to gauge the lands success or failure is how attendance at DHS looks for 2020, IMO. Does it move to 2nd place in Orlando? Does it drive up attendance to DHS by any significant number?
