Have you guys even this person. He has quite the happy energy and very talented when it comes to impressions.
You can’t help but smile when you see him interact with characters in his videos

This man is obviously not married. If he were smart he would send his impressions to Disney for possible voice over work instead of making creepy videos. Hopefully Disney doesn't see that he "borrowed" a Mickey costume.

I have zero problems with Youtubers/videos that explore the parks without the vapid commentary (see: @marni1971 's entire catalogue and our regular SWL updates from SILA and Yensid55...yes, I know he talks, but its helpful talk).

I suspect you're right though. The only reason people make youtube content is to get noticed/paid. What gets me though is just how much they honestly believe that we couldn't do without their voice/opinions. Like, I can respect it if you're just doing it as a hobby and having fun with it, but when you try and make it your living? Get a real job.

Its part of the internet economy, I don't blame them for using the tool to make money. They have learned to monetize their passion and should be applauded for it.

What I blame is the viewers. If there were no viewers, there would be no monetization, and thus no Youtubers. You want to strike at the heart of the issue, get people to stop watching....

That goes for Annual Passes too.

If it weren't for Youtubers, we wouldn't be able to virtually visit every park on the globe and ride every ride.

For some reason, though, the DL and WDW tubers just seem more annoying... maybe it's because many, at their hearts, are hoping Disney will take notice and bring them into the fold, while most other park tubers are just documenting something they'd like to share with the world with no ulterior motive.
There's different types of youtubers. I love that I can visit Shanghai, Tokyo, Paris, etc and see rides that I will likely never visit. There are however those that spend most of their time commenting, providing opinions and living their entire lives in theme parks. I really don't care about their opinion and quite honestly, they probably make researching a visit much more challenging/confusing for some folks. What one youtuber loves, another will hate...but alas, that's the internet, everyone's an expert.

Sadly, our society rewards many youtubers as if it were a real job. And @marni1971 is the bomb.

In pre-internet days, most all travelers had to go on was (mostly opinionated) travel guides from the bookshop and (worse) ill-informed newspaper articles written by someone who had no idea what they were talking about.

How many of us here remember getting angry about a ride review we disagreed with in The Unofficial Guide to Disneyland? :D

It takes work to find good, informed (or neutral) youtube park documentaries/travel footage... but they're there. We have access to a wider collection of viewpoints than ever before.

In some Youtubers' defense:

There are several movie, park and video game reviewers I watch regularly on Youtube because they're professional, well-spoken, good-natured and have insightful and unique observations. A handful are making a living at it. I have to say, they work very hard at it and deserve the money every bit as much as any TV or Magazine media reviewer.

And not one of them has a name that rhymes with Goo-Dee-Eye.

Absolutely. As much of a Disney nerd as Tom Bricker is, I respect his opinion as he tends to be honest in what I've read.

Saw him in person at D23 last summer. He stopped to get a pic with someone from my group...that's all I feel comfortable saying online.

I have no desire to applaud mediocrity.

That being said, not all youtube channels are bad and some do legitimately deserve their ad revenue.

But when you pose as an insider and offer literally zero information that isn't already available elsewhere on the net with mild googling, don't sit there and tell me to support you on Patreon so you can continue your livelihood.

Quality will last... and there will always be donkeys getting views by just being controversial and offensive. Some things never change, regardless of the medium.

Now would be a great time for a new-cast reboot of Wayne's World set in the Youtube age...

I applaud anyone trying to make money in an ever increasing digital world. Those that aren't good will go away, just like any other product.

If the recent mergers, such as Disney buying Fox, has shown us content is king. Those that can produce and get the most viewers for that content will lead in the new digital frontier.
