Is that a good thing? Where is the surprise, discovery and adventure? Watching a youtuber video is like reading the Cliff Notes of a novel that an idiot scribbled all over in crayon.

Yes but how is what you're doing right now any different? And what I mean by that is you come to the internet to either actively post your opinion or you are looking for more information about your favorite theme park, right?

No offense but the denouncing of Youtubers come off pretty hypocritical to me. Yeah they found a way to make money by combining something they love. Isn't that what everyone wants to do? In fact we are all on a site that is doing that now. You think WDWmagic all being run for free? They set it up with the hopes they get enough Disney fans it will make them some revenue.

I just find it bizarre how people are getting on these people's cases because they have the nerve to post videos of attractions and events and yet don't seem to get the irony people are here on sites like this hours a day, sometimes every day, essentially doing the same thing. Just because you consume your information a bit differently doesn't mean you're not destroying your sense of discovery and adventure as well when you discuss the ends and out of concept art for months and years at a time for a ride that hasn't been built yet.

The internet has changed a lot of things. The fact that you are here complaining about the internet on the internet kind of says it all.

There's different types of youtubers. I love that I can visit Shanghai, Tokyo, Paris, etc and see rides that I will likely never visit. There are however those that spend most of their time commenting, providing opinions and living their entire lives in theme parks. I really don't care about their opinion and quite honestly, they probably make researching a visit much more challenging/confusing for some folks. What one youtuber loves, another will hate...but alas, that's the internet, everyone's an expert.

You can say that as well about every message board out there, including here. We ALL give our opinions on everything about these parks. People have literally become stars in the Disney community over the blogs they have posted. Al Lutz being the biggest one. Youtubers aren't doing anything any differently than all the Disney obsessed geeks out there, they simply found a way to build an audience around their obsession. And I think most people can discern an opinion is simply an opinion. It's your choice to follow it or not.

OKAYYYYY back on track. Went for a walk, came back and refreshed to find 4 pages of YouTuber discussion.

The Disney Dish Podcast Episode 161 released may 14 second half is all about galaxy's edge and star wars land hotel. The scheduling system that will allow for guests to be on the same narrative experiences without ever waiting in line, and the software that will make the robots able to generate their own stories and dialogue. Truly incredible stuff. Reminds me of Grand Theft Auto but in real life, in that there is still a triggerable linear narrative gameplay within the open world, but also side activities that can be activated. Disney will have a system of activating those side activities and quests for its guests so that they all arent trying to do the same things at the same time.

Does this refer to the land or the hotel?

A bit of both? My impression based on the conversation was that designed into the land will be these narrative/character moments, at ground level, but also in second and third floor spaces that aren't on stage for everybody, but on stage to those participating. I think the land will have a level of gameplay available to all guests but the hotel guests will really get the best experience. Having the hotel as a pay wall with limited capacity will be a good way of controlling demand for those experiences, as well as monetizing it so that they can fully staff it and make it successful. If this is the case, I hope disneyland can put their star wars hotel plans back on track, as apparently they had a team of imagineers working on it until #thanksshanghai. That odd parking lot northeast of mickey and friends that I never noticed would be a good spot for easy guest access to Galaxy's Edge...

In another thread I posted about pirates reopening with fastpass/maxpass to control crowding in front of the attraction... That'll be a mess. And where will those guests go? Will they be awaiting a table at cafe orleans, which already typically has 90 minute waits? This will all just put more pressure on galaxy's edge, which is the opposite effect they intended. When people aren't in lines, they need to be somewhere else. I think it would be a gift from the heavens if the walkways and the shops/restaurants in galaxy's edge and around the park are so slammed that they have to walk back fastpass/maxpass.
