Just a note - the large door (circled) at the "Smugglers Run" attraction is "fake" and just for show. You do not enter or exit this door. The other side is part of the Falcon queue.

From MC:

Star Wars Land
New Concept Art
This week there was some new concept art released with some info about two of the shops and one of the restaurants at Galaxy’s Edge.

First Order Cargo will be one of the main shops for merchandise in Galaxy’s Edge. If you are team Dark Side, this shop will be for you.

And if you are team Light Side, then Resistance Supply is for rebels, this is your go-to for supplies and merchandise.

A new image was also released for Ronto Roasters. This quick service location will serve spit fired meats heated under a repurposed pod racing engine.

The spit is turned by a droid who is locked into perpetual servitude and not inclined to keep quiet about it. While billed as an “Exotic meats” stall, it’s only made to look that way. These wraps below are actually grilled sausage and roasted pork.

It looks like Galaxy's Edge is going to be every bit as immersive and believable as Comic-con! Can't wait to see all the middle-aged guests play-acting and embarrassing the daylights out of their teenage kids! As a well-done theme park land, though, it looks awesome.

The "Are you dark side or light side" thing reminds me of my nieces arguing over which Twilight team to join. When Twilight was a thing. Thank goodness that's over.

From Blogmickey:

"From May 31st to June 23rd, VIP Tours will not be allowed inside the new land. The only guests who will be allowed into the land are those that have secured a free reservation either with their hotel stay or via the signup period that Disney has yet to announce. That essentially means that guests will not be able to “buy” their way into the land by booking a VIP Tour.

Beginning on June 24th, which is the end of the reservation period, VIP Tours will once again be allowed into the land and they will be able to “ensure that you have a minimal wait during your Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge experience”.

So the back deck of Hungry Bear is going under interesting renovations...

My wild, crazy, probably-wrong-but-I'd-like-credit-just-in-case-it-happens prediction: Overflow queue for RotR will come out from under the railroad bridge, and then do a Jungle Cruise up onto that Hungry Bear deck. Just for the first few months of operations, I'd say. (Like when Indy queued out into Frontierland's fort area and back.)

agreed. Old image...must be baiting us to look...

Right now, there are a bunch of blogs that are taking the data from the last press tour and doling it out in regular installments on specific topics. Basically, they're spreading out the coverage to keep the eyeballs and the clicks. Most of it is rehashing. And if a new picture shows up on the Disney web site, that's all they need to grab that picture and rehash a new article around it.

They are suppose to extend the roof covering over the extended eating area. During the summer the heat is pretty bad and during the winter the past few rainy days the area couldn't be used.

Make sure to turn off your ad blocker and click on all the advertising at Micechat. Dusty considers it stealing if you don't.

Every once in a while I'll load Micechat on my phone without an adblocker.... a video automatically starts playing, intrusive advertisements every photo or two.

Honestly, if the site was still delivering content that the original Miceage delivered with Al Lutz, I'd be all for advertisements. Heck, I'd even support a subscription based system.

But a couple of dudes walking around Disneyland once a week taking photos of the same stuff every week, repeating rumors from other sources, without delivering any real news? We have Freshbaked for that. We don't need Micechat too.

so i have been meaning to ask,

when concept art was first released for this new land they released this art of a cantina that included an odd looking bartender and other walk around characters as well as an interesting bar area. Was this the original idea for the bar which is now replaced with

The first piece of concept art was from The Force Awakens and Disney simply used it as a way to sell the feel of the land.
