ok, ill start with it all goes back to the structural phase, it started out rough,
it began roughly 2 months before anything else and detail errors pushed it back 2
more months as soon as it started going up

columns were in the wrong spots, the floors being underrated for the required weight
support, the "elevators" not being deep enough to name a few and general misfabrications
of structural members on the architects end. they we still fixing things well into
the ride installation phase

Just DHS that i know of, but the findings all came from DL. but by the time word
came through the tubes it was too late. they came out of the gate swinging in florida.
we had all the consultants from dl to aid the progress in the beginning. its why
we caught up so fast

now these buildings were copied over from buildings engineered structures of California.
and naturally we followed construction schedules from them... they forgot about
floridas year round rainiy season and humidity. ride installation is in full swing...
and they just started climate contoling the building..

scuppers werent installed on one side of the building to accommodate the rockwork crews.
water built up so high on that side of the building and flooded entire work areas.
when it happened, it also shorted out the de-humidifying systems... this happened on
a friday night when all were gone for the weekend. when we came in it was almost
surreal. millions of dollars of computer equipment was destroyed and weeks were
spent just drying up the place and trying to prevent rust

water was coming in from the ac units on the roof that werent fully weather sealed in
now these are just florida stories, but major causes of delays of the attraction none
the less

I know a little something about construction projects, and I can totally see how this can happen. I've encountered a lot of bad design/plans lately, and it seems like a a lot of errors fall to the contractor to catch once construction starts (which frequently is too late and costs time and money). If CA and FL shared the same base plans, it would have been wise to share the RFI's and field issues between the two projects--but I'd be surprised to learn if that kind of info sharing happened.

So has @marni1971 confirmed Rise of the Resistance is delayed (in Anaheim), and no longer set to open in June? I am confused reading his/her posts. o_O
it was never confirmed to open in june. Disney said later this year. it is social media who came up with the idea it is going to open in june.

Disney said that SWL would be open in DL in the "Summer."

Disney decided to open SWL earlier (the Spring) without RotR (or the table service restaurant).

Until Summer passes, RotR isn't 'late.' Though, @marni1971 has suggested that it might indeed be late and not make a Summer opening.

Iger said June before (for Galaxy’s Edge opening).
Is there video of him saying that or did he say "summer 2019" and people assumed that meant "June 2019"?

It was in an interview or a quarterly call that Iger dropped "June" (though he wasn't supposed to). That jibed with the giants splays of "SUMMER 2019" on all the websites and videos and with press days and blackout days.

Then things changed and we now have what we have.

But is there actual documentation like a press release or a video or voice recording of him saying that? If not it is just hearsay unless there is some documented proof. I think people just assmued June and ran with it.

Yes, I personally heard him say it (or saw him quoted in a respected news article). It isn't hearsay.

Don't know why you have this bug about this or the RotR debut. What are you getting at?

Just curious is all. Since everything I have seen about the opening date as advertised since it was announced was summer of 2019. I was curious if this was a rumor started by some Disney vlogger who claims to be an insider but was talking out their butt basing it on AP black out dates and such. I wanted to know what was the actual source of "June 2019" to see if it had validity or was just fanboys making stuff up and assuming and getting their hopes up. So you heard it and read it? Pardon me if I dont know your background if you have shared it on here before my time. Do you work for Disney? Also do you have a link to the article you mentioned?

Here’s a screenshot. It’s towards the latter part of the interview

So, you don't know me?

And no, I don't work for Disney.

However, here is your Iger quote...

[Question] Do you still feel like you can bring more people through the parks, or is it more about growing ticket prices?
[Iger] In some, you get more repeat visitation and increased length of stay because there’s more to do. You get more capacity. When Star Wars opens in Anaheim in June and in Florida later in the year, that’s adding capacity. You’re adding 14 acres of land [each], more rides, and more things for people to do. It’s the biggest land we’ve ever built. We’re just getting higher demand on our product spread throughout the year. That gives you pricing leverage. But what we’re also trying to do is be much smarter about pricing strategy, to try to spread attendance and reduce attendance in the peak periods so we can improve guest satisfaction. Crowding is an issue.

I have a feeling if DLR opens ROTR this summer, that WDW, will open at the same time. My thought is...if the kinks get worked out for DLR, why would't they for WDW? Then why not open them at the same time.

Mister P, I agree. But you got to admit, when you are looking at a multi-month calendar, May 31 is essentially June. He's talking about adding capacity. Will May be a month with added capacity? No - not really - it would be very misleading if he said Disneyland would have added capacity in May. Will June be a month with added capacity? Yes.
