A friend of mine works for TDA and she says ROTR isn't coming out due to mechanical issues. Contractors can't figure it out. WDW is having the same problems but worse. TDA Operations is freaking out.

Yikes. What do you mean by “isn’t coming out?” I think you mean to delayed but that can be taken as something more serious.

This thing is going to turn into a vekoma coaster. Lol

Seriously though, I wonder if they would consider a track for this ride (if possible) and if that would even fix the issues.

It's starting to sound like the issues with this ride extend beyond simple "test and adjust". I'm curious to see how frequently this thing goes down once it does open... without knowing what the issues are we have no way of knowing if it's something that can be completely fixed before opening.

"Contractors can't figure it out" is NOT a good sign for the attraction that's meant to cement Disney as the unrivaled standard for themed entertainment.

Not to mention the already low capacity that's rumored... if it's at all unreliable it might be really rough trying to get on this thing for the foreseeable future.

Well that's a comment by a YouTube account without content or name that seems to be a summary of a post on another forum. Not saying it's false (and I enjoy reading rumors, otherwise I wouldn't spend so much time browsing through these forums) but I guess this is not a known source for you? :p

Splash Mountain was delayed almost a year to redesign and rebuild the fleet of logs and make other adjustments to the show scenes and mechanics of the ride... so there's definitely precedent for the need to delay and reconfigure an attraction before opening. It'll be interesting to see if anything visual to the guest experience needs to change to get this attraction working, or if the changes are strictly behind the scenes and won't change the storyline/experience of the attraction in any way.

RotR issues - remember they had the press junket a few weeks back and then the release of all the info on the 28th (Feb)
All of the reporters talking about RotR said they didn't get to see much of the ride. I'm guessing because of the issues.

Wait how long has voice text been available to post on this site? Or is it just because I got on a new phone?

I was talking to my son, looked down at my phone and everything I was saying to him was ready to be posted

What's meant by "a ride vehicle torn apart"? Like, they couldn't get it working mechanically so they tore it down to do major gear work, or that it got into some sort of sig alert collision on the ride and vehicle got totaled? The second issue is unacceptable and basically puts guest lives in danger.

I’m guessing the swift drop was more like a free fall.

Mickey Tour Guide: “And over here, you can see one of the ride vehicles—“ (Notices condition of vehicle) “WHAT THE H—“ (Sweating) “Er, sorry folks—Hey can I get you all to look at this ballpoint pen for a second?” FLASH

They must’ve let a Jungle Cruise skipper drive one.
