Here's a random yet on-topic survey question:

Once it opens, what percentage of your day's visit do you think you'll spend in SWL?

1) all day, baby!!
2) higher than 50%
3) exactly 50%
4) less than 50%
5) less than 10% (basically a walk-through)
6) none whatsoever, get me as far as away as possible.

Less than 50%. Within that range, if I had and AP it would be toward the higher end so I could soak it all in, take my time, not rush through it. No AP aka 1 time visit, I'd visit but I wouldn't want to devote too much time given there is so much more to see in the park.

Good points. I think its pretty much impossible for anyone to fully experience everything DL has to offer in just one day.

The opening summer of Galaxy's Edge, I only plan to go on Battle Escape and only with the use of a Fastpass/Maxpass. The Falcon ride just does not interest me enough to face the crowds that'll be present. My biggest hope is just that Galaxy's Edge is that most of the guests at the park are there instead of elsewhere. Unlike Cars Land which mostly just brought people into DCA to ride RSR and then wander throughout the park, I think Galaxy's Edge will keep a lot of people stuck in that land wanting to do more than just the two rides freeing up Space Mountain, Big Thunder, Matterhorn, Jungle Cruise, etc.

Both rides highly interest me, just not sure what I can do given my intense desire to hurl after anything that is "simulator" based.

Im in the same boat. I have no interest in Falcon and might honestly never go near it. And I'm really curious to know just how many people SWL will swallow up from the rest of the parks...or if we'll get one of this situations where most people figure SWL is packed, so they stay away, not realizing its not that bad.

Same. That's why I'm steering clear of Falcon and don't go on Star Tours anymore.

To be fair, the loop on Cali Screamin' does me in too.

Falcon for me, though, if I'm not with a party of four, then I'm stuck with strangers in the cockpit. And seeing how everyone will have a role piloting the ship, if it's not all people I know, that's really awkward. It's like when I was stuck on Mickey's Fun Wheel with strangers except 10x worse. There's also the fact that it's basically just a glorified video game, much like Toy Story Midway Mania (what's with all the Paradise Pixar Pier similarities?), which is a boring concept to me. I'm sure it'll be a smash hit as a result, but if I'm going to be in control of my ride, I'll take Autopia or the canoes any day.

lol. I did that on purpose.
But I know what you mean. I ride solo on Buzz simply because I don't want anyone else turning the cart. It will undoubtedly be a smash hit, but I don't feel like I'm really missing out on anything.

I can still do Incredicali...the loop is fine but the whoop de do's get me a little. Can only do it once per visit. In general, I can't do much in the way of coasters that have more than one loop which is one of the (many) reasons I stay away from Six Flags Magic Mountain.

In any case, I hope Falcon isn't the prototypical simulator (from a nausea perspective) but I'm not holding out much hope. Maybe I just take 3 dramamine and a long nap after.

No particular order:

-Indiana Jones (DL and TDS)
-Sinbad (TDS)
-Haunted Mansion
-Winnie the Pooh (TDL)
-POTC (SDL)

To make clear though the list always shifts here and there but these are my usual top favorites worldwide.

I'm curious where you place Mystic Manor (HKDL), Tron Coaster, Flight of Passage, Soarin', Ratatouille,
are you combining those?
if not, what did you notice with the end of the ticket books?

sorry, mom... it's an interesting fishhook!
:p

I noticed several things. There was a deterioration of the pace of enjoying the park. Instead of pacing the visit based on how many tickets (especially E tickets), passports led to families running from ride to ride to cram in as many as they could. There was less time spent perusing the quaint shops in NO Square and Main St. or enjoying smaller entertainment offerings. When I was young, we would buy senior admission tickets for my grandparents when they visited from Oklahoma. Today, we wouldn't pay $150 each for them to sit on a park bench, ride the train, Mark Twain, Carousel of Progress, Lincoln, and Circlevision.

It was an essential change in the culture of Disneyland and Magic Kingdom (coinciding with the opening of EPCOT). But they're making money hand over fist.

I never been on Ratouille yet or the Flight of Passage (Haven't been to WDW in over a decade). But Mystic Manor would definitely fall somewhere in my top 10. The Tron coaster is a LOT of fun and easily the best ride in SDL after Pirates but I doubt I would put it in the top 10 but its a great ride. Soarin Over California was easily in my top 10 but I feel Soarin Over the World has less impact because its a lot of great locations but the CGI is too obvious in places.
