I was not talking about Orlando. I was talking about Osaka and Hollywood. Flying Unicorn wasn’t a clone in Orlando.

It made perfect sense to reuse the ride in Orlando. It made little sense to clone the overlay.
I thought they weren’t exact clones and just share the name. Some of the pictures I’ve seen at least make them look taller.

I don't know about that... Over at MK they are building a new in-door coaster directly next door to the only other in-door coaster in the park!

Touche. But Tron is partly outdoors, a motorbike and a completely different property, nor is Space Mountain launched. Two indoor seated launch coasters side by side featuring Iron man seems highly unlikely. WDSP even has a spinning indoor seated coaster with Crush, not impossible but I’ll give good odds on that not happening.

A battle escape type ride? Sure that could be a maybe if Tron and Space are acceptable to Disney.

So I just ventured to the WDW SWL thread for the first time in months and I’m super disappointed to hear Marni compare Battle Escape to Transformers. I’ve always pictured it as the trackless version of Shanghai POTC so to hear that took my excitement level down quite a few notches. With that said, due to the size of the show building, I would imagine the scale will be a lot bigger than Transformers. I’ve only been on Transformers 3 times but I just remember being parked into front of screens and flung around with no memorable physical sets. The sets are basically side pieces that serve as transitions. The scale also felt tiny in retrospect. Like going from one tiny room to another.

I’m hoping that it’s much more like Shanghai’s POTC or Transformers on crack/ steroids. But that comparison... yuck.

I'll have to go check out that side of the board Bruh. But I have to think with the sheer size of the structure any screen will be a compliment to the set pieces.

I’d have to believe the same bruh but I saw Marni also outline a diagram showing that only about 50-60 % of the building (my estimate based on his diagram) is for the actual ride. And that post was actually in response to someone saying exactly what we re saying about scale.

On another note the rumored amount of AAs gives me hope that it will be much more Grand. Im getting the feeling that the Q and that grand reveal will be better than the actual attraction.

I wonder if the ride will be fun for someone with no desire to ride through or be in the middle of a First Order battle. Will it be physically thrilling at all or just be about the Star Wars scenes?

Marni is also kind of HOB so he might be downplaying how cool this ride will be.

Transformers doesn't really have any AA's, it's mostly a simulator ride with some motion vehicles. I enjoy it for what it is, but I think Battle Escape is going to be pretty awesome considering the sheer amount of AA's.

Reminds me of Western River Expedition where the show building was giant but most of it was just to give the sense of large, open plains.

ADMISSION: I might catch some heat for this, but I prefer Transformers to Star Tours. I enjoy the ST queue more than the ride itself. With ST, I feel like I'm in a giant box and there's a movie playing and I'm just being shaken a bit. With Transformers, yes I'm watching a movie, but at least there is more motion to the ride vehicle & I enjoy the chaos of not knowing where I'm going.

If Disney were to demolish ST in the middle of the dead of night, I wouldn't shed a tear.

Well that’s another troubling little thing bruh. Marni keeps saying he hasn’t heard or any AAs and doesn’t know how many there will be. So basically on 10 pages on that thread I saw him compare it to Transformers, that he doesn’t know of any AAs and a good portion of the building won’t be used for the actual ride. Buzz kill after buzz kill bruh.

You could be right and he could be downplaying it but he seems like a straight shooter to me. Maybe it’s a good thing we go into it with lower expectatuons and be pleasantly surprised than the other way around.

I’ll have to bruhspectfully disagree bruh. I find it to be more believable as the screen is the “windshield.” The screens in Transformers or GOTG feel like just that to me - screens.

Regardless the original Star Tours was much better

Whoa bruh, Marni is killing my buzz. If this turns out to be another SCREENZ ride, then I'm gonna check out.

Honestly, I feel like Disney is becoming more like Universal and Universal is becoming more like Disney. Super Nintendo World is predominately going to be practical rides with AA's and sets, while stuff like Avatar/FOP is mostly SCREENZ. Even though I heard FOP is amazeballs, I'm disappointed in the lack of AA's and set pieces considering it's the E-ticket attraction for the land.

I've said it before but I'll say it again to double down on it, I don't mind if there are screens on Battle Escape, but if it feature a single actor or character on screen, especially ones trying to communicate with the riders, it's an automatic failure in my books. I also want it to be filmed on actual film and use practical sets/models, but I don't see that happening. Screens really should only ever be used for backdrops and windows. Even then, though, I prefer hand painted murals with projections on them to simulate movement like with the Grand Canyon diorama.

Ok, so I went and read up what Marni put. Its was so vague that you can read almost anything into it. Even with the little diagram that is still a lot of real estate for JUST screens. Remember its a 2 story building, and you are rumored to see action in both the 1st and 2nd floors.

BTW, Marni LOVES Transformers as noted by someone in that forum. So its comparison to Transformers is suppose to be taken as a good thing.

So I still put money on its being more physical sets with screens largely for background action than actually completely all screens.

Star Tours isn't realistic enough. GIVE ME REAL SPACE STAR TOURS, DISNEY.
