That's a bit problematic. Mind you, I would very much like to experience that. But I think the angle of the ramp is steeper than building codes allow, especially for wheelchairs. It also necessitates a lot more space. I'm not sure I see the depth necessary for such a set.

There's an elevator on the Falcon that works fine for any disabled persons...

I was just looking that up when you posted this. ADA compliant ramps are no more than a 1:12 ratio. Every inch of rise requires one foot of ramp length. For a mere yard in rise, 36 feet of ramp is necessary. If guests will get to walk up the ramp, there will need to be alternate ADA access.

The running up the ramp thing is such an iconic part of the Millenium Falcon.

I'm only a casual fan of the Star Wars movies, just because I was an American in the late 20th century, and even I know that when you board the Millenium Falcon you get to walk up that cool boarding ramp. And the metal grating makes that identifiable noise as you walk up that ramp. And it's even cooler if Stormtroopers are shooting laser guns at you while you do it, while Chewbacca roars something snotty as he returns fire for you and you run into the ship just in time.

If they can't get that sort of iconic ramp boarding experience for the Falcon ride to get inside the most famous spaceship in American history (sorry, Apollo 11, I know you tried hard), then that will be a major letdown.

I didn't know where else to post this and I suppose this is as good a place and time as any. My favorite feature of the Millennium Falcon (which I still consider an overrated hunk of junk--give me any Star Trek starship or the TARDIS any day) is the miniature Home Alone trap gun that pops out of the bottom specifically to shoot at Snow Troopers in an extremely brief moment in The Empire Strikes Back. So charming. I think the only way Disney could make me go "Oh, alright" and smile at Star Wars Land is if they have a miniature automated pivoting gun pop out of the bottom of the Millennium Falcon while you're waiting in line.

Found this shot from a video on Tested, and I thought I'd add my thoughts regarding the last part of MF's queue experience. I'm guessing there will be 4 ramps (one for each turntable) with partially built Falcons for the 'walking up the ramp' experience, different from the full scale Falcon at the front of the attraction. I sure hope the queue-splitting-up-to-the-four-turntables happens earlier than "being on the ship." Otherwise they'd need to have an awful lot of additional hallways that simply aren't in the ship, and they'll hope we fans don't notice.

Hey @JediMasterMatt what do you think? Warm? Cold?
@marni1971 Your thoughts??

There is an alternative--rather than going up the ramp (necessitating an exterior to the falcon) one diagram I've seen specifies docking rings on the port and starboard sides. I wonder if there might also be a separate partial falcon (starboard side only) at the position immediately to the right.

Another possibility would be entering through the port side docking ring and exiting out the starboard side. This would allow walling off the the cargo space at the rear and further shrinking the footprint. Here's a crude idea.

What I'm still having a hard time getting myself is how is all of this going to fit inside of a to-scale Millennium Falcon model?

o_O

It doesn't. The big one you see in all the concept art is exterior decoration. Like the Nautilus at Disneyland Paris. The actual walk-through attraction is behind landscaping to the side of its lagoon.

I'm sure somewhere in the Falcon's pre-show you get told that Chewie or someone 'flies' the ship from where you saw it parked outside to the docking bay that you go in to board.

Well, I mean, if you enter the attraction by walking up the ramp, then you would see the Falcon in all its glory right? Otherwise what's the point of going up the ramp?

I'm thinking for the ramp experience you'll see a slice of the falcon, perhaps with obstructive pieces of cargo on both sides of you so they wouldn't have to build yet another full replica. It could also be a nighttime setting in this area where you walk up the ramp. Better suspension of disbelief that way.

Ah I see. That makes a lot of sense. Didn't think much of the Falcon ride before, and I don't know how the ride will be, honestly, but these queue layouts are pretty interesting imo and explain a lot that I didn't understand.
