I brought some friends this weekend and they loved GE. I will say that the park was fairly crowded and there was good CM and character interaction. MF queue was full but it moves pretty well. If it says an hour, you'll be on in 30-40 mins. They wanted to go on another ride and were disappointed it was only MF.
Oh, you've done it now. Anything short of saying GE is an unmitigated disaster will make you a target.

It's still a disappointment for me but I also realize it's basically running at roughly 50% of its modified Cheapeked form for me. Considering the second ride is shuttered and I'm not interested in shopping or dining. I'm optimistic about ROTR and I still basically like the Falcon ride. Piloting is super fun and as long as you can secure that position, its worth the very modest wait times. It's very easily accessible from the Haunted Mansion area, which is another plus.

Galaxy's Edge has a mountain range but no mountain attraction. Probably the biggest disappointment.

True. This sparks another thought. You have this huge mountain range and Falcon parked outside. All of this buildup. And then the experience is so small. A tiny cockpit simulator game where 2/3 of people are pushing buttons on a side panel. Do we have any other example of such a huge buildup for such a small experience?

Then on the flip side you have rides like POTC with a small unassuming facade/ building with a 15 minute adventure waiting for you.

That's a great thing about Pirates. Even the signs out front advertise it as just a boat ride through caves.

Oh my God, you're right! I'd read this sign a hundred times while waiting in line, but never thought about it.

I think Smuggler’s Run is effective for what it is. If you ignore the mountain range backdrop and see we’re just going into a sci-fi garage it’s not such a small experience.

You're going in the abandoned Ohnaka Transport.

I always laugh at how genuinely surprised Hondo is to see people.

Also, just my opinion, but the FOP lab and queue, on paper, should be boring. Yet it’s actually quite exciting and bustling. Just by simple tricks and kinetic energy. It’s shocking to me how dead Ohnaka Transport is.

I guess it’s canon though!

Is it possible that they re waiting to unleash all the streetmosphere for when Episode 9 comes out? Possible but wouldn’t really make sense to me. They could be trying to spread the cost over different fiscal quarters but You think they would want to unveil the land during its grand opening in the best light possible. Especially with ROTR down.

Weird how they decided to make this the best thing in all of Galaxy's Edge but it certainly is. Truly Disney and truly Star Wars. Man, I do love DJ Rex. So much fun. I only wish he wasn't in an alcoholic establishment. Also a shame DJ Rex doesn't tune into K-DROID or play "I Want to Weld Your Hand" by Danny and the Droids. But that's neither here nor there.

Excited to finally check it out Sunday. I’m sure it will be my favorite part of the land...until ROTR opens.

You aren't also confused how in your "flight", you continuously dive down hundreds, if not thousands of feet, yet you will emerge to a sea, or another cliff. What, did we start on some 20,000 foot tall point on Pandora, that has multiple seas at massively different elevations. And apparently Pandora has 4 hour long days, as the ride starts in clear bright skies, yet 3 minutes later it is dusk.
Well in all fairness, it is an exotic planet where everything glows in the dark, rocks fly, you can control other creatures by connecting to them with your head tail (which also apparently doubles as some kind of sexual organ) and you can connect to God through the hairlike appendages of a tree. So all that stuff you said isn't really all that surprising.

If they built the millennium falcon like that...or made it a tie fighter...

There would be 4 hour waits right now.

You always have to suspend reality at the right moment to make theme park attractions work. Flight of passage is an amazing ride/experience...because those that aren’t chucking are giggling or talking coming out of the show building. Take 5 minutes and watch the next time...it’s true.

So while the story doesn’t match up linear to the IP - it meets the “suspension” threshold and that’s what park design is all about

When I rode, those coming out looked like people coming out of any ride. After all, it's just a 4 minute movie.

I've heard about those that break down in tears. Perhaps Disney has hired mental health specialists to gather those people after the ride now.

I need to experience FOP one of these days because I cannot fathom how people have such emotional reaction to something that seems so meh.

Been on it probably 8-10 times over 5 ish trips (2018 was busy...not intentional)...and I heard laughing and discussion of details in every single exit line.

Not gonna be everyone. But I feel comfortable in my assessment based on experience that’s getting far too long.

It’s a simulator that hits. Simulators are tough and the bullseyes are rare.

My suggestion to disney and Comcast is stop building $300 mil simulators when a $100 million dollar premium themed system with Isaac Newton in control will do...
