I am so confused why there is music playing, are there any Imagineers on the site who can explain why there would be Star Wars movie music in there? Also, can they also explain where in any Star Wars canon mythology that light sabers are bought and built from a tray of pieces you choose from in a tray? So confused.

But good news is the immersion in the marketplace is solid so we have crappy "Batuu" wooden toys nobody wants!

My god, they were all talking over each other! Amateurish and disorganized it was! (And loud).

And Disney couldn't have had Yoda appear as a "hologram", instead of just a voiceover? Cutting corners again, Iger?

Another thing about Savi's; unless I've missed it, there doesn't seem to be a trace of Savi him/her self in there.

I agree Disney is missing a trick by not having a force ghost lead the build. You could swap out different Jedi --Yoda, Obi Wan, Luke, if he's really dead--and have different and more impressive shows. Sure, it costs money to put that together, but your also saving labor costs by needing fewer CMs, and more people would repeat the experience in order to see the different and recognizable Jedi, driving more revenue.

Had a friend of mine who doesn't know anything about SWGE say he was looking forward to going when he is in WDW soon because he loves Star Wars weekends with all of the characters, the Star Wars fireworks show , the march of the stromtroopers, seeing Vader in the M&G, his son loved the Jedi training academy at DL, etc.

I paused before I had to tell him, "Um, yeah. None of that is in Star Wars land. There is no Jedi Training Academy, there is no Star Wars fireworks show with the music, no Vader/Yoda/Boba Fett, no march of the stormtroopers, no light saber fights in the streets, no thousands of characters, droids, and people dressed up like on Star Wars Weekends. But, it's, um immersive?"

When he mentioned Star Wars Weekends it really hit me how poor the creative choices are in this land - I would rather go to any Star Wars Weekend than go to deserted Batuu.
This is so good!!!

Galaxy’s Edge is Immersive and built for the sequel trilogy stories, which BTW killed off Luke, Leia, and Han. It’s a homage land. Enjoy mourning your Star Was fantasies. Have a drink.

it's been mentioned here before I believe, but you can indeed see thunder mountain from the MF queue. Here's a pic from my visit last week

Good GOD.

Maybe Disneyland did get the better version after all.

OMG, what did I just watch? I realize these are still early previews, but this looked about exciting as a trip to the Optical counter at Costco. The only difference being you actually get to use your glasses when you're done at Costco.

Man, the top of the falcon is going to look ugly after a couple seasons of rain and sun...

I have some review comments on Oga's from my two good friends who love disney. They got some reservations mid week and went in the evening to check it out.

They absolutely hated it.

They got hectically sat with two other groups in a booth much too small for that many people. They were forced to sit on small stools facing the family of 6 and other group they were forced to sit with. Menus were rushed into their hands. They proceeded to sit there, staring at the wall and strangers in front of them on the uncomfortable stools for 15 minutes without any service and contemplated leaving because they were miserable. Finally a CM came over and informed them they were out of several different drinks and took their order. The CM proceeded to explain "We exchange credits here before provisions, hehe, good moons, brights suns" and my friend asked "What?" and the CM bluntly said "You pay first."

So they payed, and then got their drinks delivered 15 minutes later. The drinks they said were nothing special. The family of 6 left and they moved into the booth and could actually relax a bit. The CMs proceeded to shove more people into their booth and the experience continued to be miserable because they spent the remainder of their time scooting back and forth in the booth to accommodate more strangers.

They ordered the bar bites (paying beforehand again) which they commented was nothing special... they also proceeded to get a couple of the beers (they noted the Bad Motivator IPA is pretty good).

Overall, they said other than the effects of alcohol, it was a terrible experience and they are amazed Disney executed it so horrifically. Why are there no bar tabs? Every other bar on Disneyland property has bar tabs... why not here? My friend noted that the CMs appear to be stressed and hectic based simply on the fact that they spend most of their time running cards prior to any order.

My question is... is the Cantina even run by the resort food/bar operations? It is distinctly NOT a bar (Carthay, Hearthstone, Trader Sam's) so what gives?

Friends said they'd never go back unless it was with me or someone else to experience it for the first time.

It's a shameless knockoff of the HP wand shop. The difference being that the HP shop recreates a scene from the movie perfectly and is charming...for kids.

No children to be found at GE. Just a bunch of neckbeards playing with glow sticks.

At least they're playing JW music?

The Cantina is more fun if you decide to get into it and socialize with those around you... sorry your friends didn’t get the date night they wanted in the Cantina 😂 oh, and I know plenty of bars that don’t do tabs.

Much easier to keep organized and get people in and out with current 45 minute max time period.

I’m 60ish days from my first WDW trip in years and can’t wait to see GE. I’ve had quite a few friends visit DL and nobody was thrilled, but my optimism continues. The biggest two complaints that I have heard continually are the conduct of the CMs and the concern about there being not much to do unless you want to spend a ton of money. We still want to see it!

Are you the same Disneyfanman with the YouTube channel?

your incredibly condescending tone aside, if someone wants to go to a bar with a friend and not be forced into interacting with strangers, that doesn’t make them crazy or wanting a “date night.” that means they just want to enjoy the time they’re spending with who they’re with. hell, i went to the cantina alone and was miserable from how much of a sardine can it felt like. also sure, it’s technically more efficient to limit guests’ time but that doesn’t mean the service itself can/should be as slow and unfriendly and inconvenient to the customer as it is here. and just because some bars don’t have tabs doesn’t mean it makes sense for this one not to, even considering the time limit.
