I would have guessed maybe 50-55. It was the Facebook DVC page where people seem to “budget”/use kitchens etc that threw me.

But your overall story is a familiar one. The “spirit of 76”

Hey now, women don't like being guessed as older I was in existence for Spirit of 76 but born the next year - though obviously early as I just had my birthday a few weeks earlier. I am only on one FB group... at least now and not the official DVC page, but one I help monitor. So not sure what was said as I don't recall discussing that any recent times, but have talked in the past. We use the kitchen, but I don't like to cook on vacation. Grilling a sandwich is okay though which is the most I've done. I use the toaster often for bagels and the fridge to store drinks. I'm not a big eater as a whole though. So I don't need a kitchen but like the space. I did studios in November when it was just me. Will be studios in a couple weeks when me and my 14yo. Otherwise we never go down in size (though would if flights changed and stuff to add a night).

All this to say that after looking at the videos there is no way I'd book a standard cabin at the Starcruiser. I am sure it is fine for some but we never go small. The more I see the videos the more I feel too enclosed. The whole thing looks small and I'm sure it is fine for some but not doable for me in a standard cabin unless alone or only one other.

I forgot that it's all valet. I wouldn't think they'd have the valet available all the time, though -- likely only during the few arrival hours and departure hours. I guess the valet could easily be part of the staff doing other things outside of those hours, though, and thus available if necessary.

I don’t know any hotel that has valet parking that doesn’t staff it 24/7. Your not going to trap people in the hotel.

Disney has had the most Skeleton of skeleton crews for along time. There may be 8 people working a 1,000 room hotel between 12-6.

That’s why I always say it’s not “luxury”…there’s no commitment to serve your $650 room that way.

Pffft it's all good! I was seriously joking. Hard to guess ages honestly and many DVC owners as long as we have are not our age.

This does bring a good point. If someone like me might be seen as the ideal client however not interested mostly because it's too "kid based" in actions, who is this really for? I am curious what types of people are booking.

I’m a huge Star Wars and WDW (obviously) nerd so this should be right up my alley, but I can’t see myself doing this in its current form. Maybe if I could get a group together for it but I doubt any friends or family would be willing to make that commitment. Besides, from what I’ve seen my ideal Starcruiser experience might just be to eat dinner and visit the lounge afterwards - I wouldn’t even want to be locked in for two days.

Looks good if you have the money and can buy into the storyline, I’ll be very interested to hear what guests have to say when it opens.

Funny you should mention that. Heard from a tester that spent 3 hours trying to arrange to get something out of his car. It was quite the ordeal lol. I'm sure that process has been streamlined somewhat now.

I watched one of the videos of the lightsaber training and I just don't understand what is going on. Nobody looks like they are having fun as they wait for another beam of light to emit. This technology and the way it's implemented is less advanced than playing Force Unleashed (where you play as Vader's secret apprentice) on the Wii which was released in 2008.

Also does anyone know if the VR from the void made it into the Starcruiser? The reviews for that experience were good and it was something I always wanted to try before it shut down. Based on those reviews it seems that would have been a nice addition.

As several main characters have ear pieces in, I wonder if there's a director sat somewhere watching screens and instructing them when to enter rooms or which guests have been asked to help earlier on etc? Now that would be a cool job.

The CM's frantic energy and script helps but the entire room is a visual bore with everything being washed by UV light. It doesn't help that the "low energy" beam effects are barely visible and of the same monochromatic hue. The fix, IMHO would be to see Lightsaber Training reworked as a game with a top points total, a scoreboard and a declared winner to encourage competition amongst all of the lightsaber trainees. How many hits can you rack up!?

If doable, making the "energy beams" a different color would be the best budget improvement. To that, whenever the lightsaber comes into contact with the beam it should change color (white?) to show a "hit" with an accompaning strobe effect on the saber's hilt and wall. Overall it's a cool idea but there's not much to keep anyone invested.

The void was great…

Low commitment and surprisingly fun. A great thing that the world “got in the way of” at this point

It is really only like a cruise in a story sense, as it is sort of all inclusive but not relaxing and only two days with access to one theme park that you may not want to spend much time in as you have less than 48 hours and hard scheduled things to experience.

There is not much R and R like a cruise.

I question the “all inclusive” aspects of this?

Like can I have a sandwich at 2 pm? Can I hang out with the fellow man-babies at 4 am in the bar with the “alien”?

Or is it “do this…in ten minutes do that…” for staffing and cost effectiveness? What if I’ve done the land…cause I have and it’s has little to no repeat value?

My biggest take away is how amazing the food and meals looks, which only leads me to the conclusion that Galaxy's Edge could have had the hottest, most crowded, insane table service restaurant on property. And it disappoints me, because I can't justify paying 6 grand for just FOOD!

Don't need no stinking valet parking service! Greeters at the entrance to guide guests and bell hop service to tag / move luggage to the halcyon and appropriate cabins the guests can park / secure their own vehicles. Don't see valet parking as a perk or extravagance actually more of a nuisance.
