The Datapad schedule has actually repopulated for real (for real). And while it's still mostly all the same Summer Camp on Endor activities as the last go-round, the stand out for me is that you can build a model of the Halcyon - as long as you buy it first!!! Shouldn't this really be the equivalent of the value resorts offering free coloring sheets?

These would be cute activities or merchandise as part of the theme part but they're behind a $6k paywall! And once you get behind that, there are still upcharges!

This is where the "delusional Disney adult" rep comes from...

Wrong. Certain characters can be cute like the Ewoks or Grogu. That is fine but the overall show of The Mandalorian is faaar from cute. Return of the Jedi is faaar from cute. The stuff with The Emperor is really dark. Empire is dark despite the cute moments with Han and Leia. A Star Wars movie or experience should never be in and of itself described as cute or it is a failure.
But there has been a cutesy element since the first movie.

I think it's the reviewer labeling the experience in total as "cute" that's the issue here. Of course, as in the SW films, there will be elements about this experience that could be described as "cute", like the droid racing activity. But, IMO, for $6K, the experience should be evoking far stronger sentiments. It should be an epic, transporting, memorable adventure, with all the "cute" elements being balanced by more thrilling experiences. And maybe it will be? We'll find out in a few weeks!

For $6K, give the guest the damn model.

Slappy is at it again.

I understand, but let's remember - this is Star Wars in a Disney park.
That is always going to effect how dark they are willing to go.
Little kids have to join their parents, and sleep in this experience.
That is going to temper things.
I imagine things will get tense on the second day when the First Order board, and things will get chaotic - I've likened this to the way It's a Bug's Life is done.
But it will all go well in the end of course, and everyone will leave with a smile on their face.

BUT IS IT $6K WORTH OF SMILE!?!?!?!?!

(which is of course relative)

This is a fine example of the too-wide a cross-section of SW fans they are trying to attract. Too bad they can't schedule "kid-centered voyages" and "adult (or at least 18+) voyages." I'm concerned that the summer-camp stuff like build a model and droid racing are not going to really engage the hard-core geeks. If they want to make it a memorable experience, I think the watered-down trip they seem to be promising is just not worth $6K... let alone $1K.

Will be interesting to find out if the kids have their own activities and the parents can do something different... or if the entire family/group is intended to remain together while they follow the pre-programmed storyline as they make their way through the "voyage."

It looks like Star cruiser guests are being given special buttons to wear on their planetary excursions to Battu

This is to press upon the front of the line cast members in the park to interact with them and say things like "How is your cruise?" and other thematic interactions. Feelies they used to call things like those recognition buttons in the industry.

Next to no cost, on the Cast Members wanting themed interaction and gives those staying there that extra emotional pull.

I would equate what I've read so far to be like the 'kids clubs' on the cruise ship... aimed primarily at 7-11yr olds. Sure as an adult you could be in the room playing along... but it still feels like playing with your kids vs something for you. It's like a M&G in the parks, sure you can play along for a minute... but is it something you do all day? no.

I'm really disappointed in what I've seen vs the atmosphere/potential the idea had when pitched. Premium cost is fine if you got a premium experience. This feels TOO much kid oriented.

I mean, sure the treasure hunt stuff they do on the cruises is fun... because it's a casual distraction... not an additional 4k upcharge.

If they can't do a TON better in emersion than what they are doing next door in the theme park then people are going to turn up their nose at the cost. The whole thing should be RotR build out quality.. if not.. perpetually doomed.

Doubles as a next-gen magic band which if I recall was also touted as a 'thing' for GS.

This thread has become like the Skyliner thread before it opened in which people were tripping over themselves to declare how everyone was going to die of heat exhaustion and suffer all types of tragic deaths.

It's still overpriced, but that's no reason to think up unrealistically horrible things will happen.

The big downside is right there in plain sight: It's overpriced. For most people.

The rich, for whom $6k is nary a concern will have their turn first. Sucks. But (to engage momentarily in hyperbole) that doesn't mean one has to concoct everyone will die from lack of oxygen because the windows are hidden.

For sure. I'm not rich but I can afford to stretch for this. It may be amazing or may be just pretty good and a rip off, but in no way do I think that Disney is going on this. For me I have entirely too much crap in my house and even things I've considered overpriced at the time have appreciated in my memory. This will be a surprise birthday present for my son, and I'm quite certain he doesn't care about the existence of or paint sheen on the drywall.

And for the record I also thought the Skyliner was insane without air conditioning. As it turns out, I'm more often cold on the damn skyliner than hot.

Yea i feel like we haven’t heard anything about magicband integration and I feel like starcruiser could benefit from it. Things like the tech that made your name pop up on Small world or the etch a sketch in the TSM queue would be cool personalization for Star cruiser
