Because you have to have two ways to get out of a building during a fire. When you stay at a Hampton Inn, the windows are an emergency exit route. On the upper floors, a fireman on a ladder rescues you, but it's at least an option.

You can see the fire exits and emergency window openings on the exterior of the building.

Sure but when I stay at a hotel in Chicago 35 floors up, the windows don’t open so what is their second way?

I assumed they would have to pay a King's ransom to Timothy Zahn and others should they want to really use the expanded universe. Otherwise how stupid to just disregard it and render illegitimate characters that in some cases show up in the launch bay. However, with Star Wars it's always a familiar theme and the same overall struggle, whereas Marvel is heroes/vilains battling with different superpowers.

I agree fully that they **** the bed on discarding what was once canon. Had they not forced so many weird decisions in the ST then they probably could have gone back in time and done some of those stories after the fact. Could have been fun seeing a new generation of movies or even D+ series with the solo twins if they were smart enough to keep the other players involved (Mara/Ben) in the movies somehow. Well, we kind of got one of the twins with the wrong name, and he will be reportedly appearing every other night in a swamp near you.
I highly doubt that any of the EU agreements weren’t ironclad on the side of LFL…
It’s been speculated that George “liked money”…just a tad 🤫

It’s not very good if you’re Disney. The idea that they want this available 60-75 days out is a hard one to defend even for the praetorians.

It could be bad. Or not. It's definitely not wildly popular. It's definitely not an abhorrent mess that nobody is signing up for.

Before people had to ante up the full amount (over their down payment), there were about 12 out of 60 'cruises' (March - June) that showed at least one opening. When the time came to pay in full, that jumped to around 20 openings, with the highest I counted at 27 (out of 60). Right now, it's 21 out of the first 60 cruises that have at least one opening.

Right now, all of March and almost all of April are locked down with full payments. Occasionally they'll be an opening and some blog sites will breathlessly report "Maiden cruise date has lost bookings!!" and it will be refilled the next day.

May looks interesting with no full bookings (which happened just recently). Are they letting later bookings know earlier dates opened up and moving them? Are they shutting down all of May? If either were true, I'm sure we'd hear people on social media talking about how they were called and asked to move their date. So... <shrug>

But May is now the pay-up or shut-up month. And there has always been a churn when on the cusp of that moving deadline.

For me…I’m trying to meet you halfway/tow the line.

i’m attempting to keep my comments reserved for what we can see/have seen in releases.

and I really want this to be good. I think I actually “need” it to be…

again…”good” for me.

the 13 year old son of a friend of mine got to do the preview with his CM relative. This is what my friend told me her son said. And don’t worry, no real spoilers. But I’m shocked that the bus supposedly DOES feel like it was flying.
Of course, this is all through the eyes of a 13 year old, too. I definitely thought things were WAY cooler than they were at 13. 🙃

I would not be surprised on the test cruises that there might be a phone blackout and you had to use their datapad on wifi. Interesting to see how this plays out in March.

Thanks for the info- My problem is- I cant get past the part that if the experience is SO GOOD- how did Disney fail so bad with advertising it.

Right, I thought for sure it was gonna be awful. But again, this is a kid who got to do it for free. So take it with a grain of salt. I’m still skeptical myself. But at least I know one person who like it! 🤣

He couldn't tell the difference between a box truck and bus? No way I can take this seriously!

If you're locked inside the back of a bus themed to look like some sort of shuttlecraft, how would you be able to tell it wasn't a box truck themed to look like some sort of shuttlecraft, especially considering you can't see the exterior of the vehicle in which you're moving and the vehicle has been modified to make you feel like it's flying?

I've been wondering if they should have just let hype drive the marketing for the first month or two of voyages. Then, instead of the cringe video they released, they should have requested the initial set of cruises (or even one of these test cruises) to allow for video recording for marketing purposes. I don't want to get into arguments whether the experience will be good or not, or if the guests should be the driver of that experience, but I do think they lost a bit of ambience and energy that can only be obtained with actual people going through the experience. Things felt so sterile and you could focus on the negative space.
