Besides ET, she has been a producer on movies like The Color Purple, Jurassic Park, Hook, The Money Pit, Twister, The Sixth Sense, Bridges of Madison County, Arachnophobia, the Curious Case of Benjamin Button, Lincoln....and a ton more. Been an executive producer on a bunch of others, including big hits....

You may not like what she has done with Star Wars, but to label her as just someone's secretary is really harsh...and ignores the totality of her career.
How many of these actually she had creative input other than producing (aka money ?
Most of them had amazing actors and directors on conjunction.

The Muppets were has-beens before Disney bought them. No use blaming Disney for it. The puppets put out a film called Muppets In Space (or From Space, whatever) that was a huge box-office flop. And of course there have been many flops since. I suspect that there are those in the company for whom nostalgia is a mental illness, and that's why they keep pushing the puppets on an increasingly disinterested public. Dumb move. That will just result in more flops. Disney ought to try to sell the socks to someone else, if they can find such a sucker. I doubt it.

I too am mystified by the company's indifference towards Zootopia. An excellent film, a financially successful film, starring Disney's recently-neglected mainstay, talking animals, and yet Disney seems unimpressed with it. Judy Hopps is one of the best female characters Disney has created in a long time. She and Nick are a fun couple. Nuts to the frog and pig. The fox and rabbit are much more appealing. I was hoping for a theatrical sequel to the film, but that's not happening. Incidentally: when the trailer for a new film called Bad Guys came out (featuring some of the most unappealing-looking animals ever), some twits on Twitter were saying that Bad Guys is automatically better than Zootopia because Zootopia was about...ugh...cops!!! No kidding. What a world we live in right now.
Ironically, I read that Cheapek just announced there is going to be an Encanto "franchise" ?
lel
I guess Encanto will be the new Frozen.
Another sleeper hit that Disney took with their pants down.

As only a casual Star Wars fan, my only real thought on Kathleen Kennedy is...

The pukey and typically Hollywood hubris of shoving her into the Galactic Starcruiser as Captain Karen is insulting and gross. I believe they made that artistic decision based on two data-points;
1. Most of our fans are sexist jerks stuck in the Stone Age who we don't like.
2. This will teach them! And the womxn will love Captain Karen! Look how smirky she is! Hollywood!

Honestly, this whole project pre-opening has so much glaringly wrong with it. But the short chapter on shoving Ms. Kennedy in there as Captain Karen is such a perfect example of all that is wrong with today's self-absorbed Hollywood industry. And they wonder why more and more Americans dislike them so much?

I want to speak with your manag... um... your Space Admiral!

As much as it pains me to agree...

Also the casting of Laura Dern as an Admiral in The Last Jedi...great that they chose a woman, but they chose possibly the worst one. She's too wishy-washy to come off as a good admiral.

You know what's funny?
That is some very weak deflecting lol.
Where have I said she has been some sort of creative genius? Rather, I called out her successful career as a producer. Pretty much one of the top in the industry. For some to overlook that and label her as some sort of secretary is not only demeaning but rather sexist. Why deminish someone’s success?
Also, the assumption that she has had no creative input on anything she produced is speculation and would actually be very unlikely.

It was a silly move to kill him off. Even if they want to focus on other characters keep him around for future cameos when you need it.
Luke skywalker was the backbone of Star Wars…he was the emotional center.
Revisionist history over the last 35 years has tried to re-write that…and some people bought it.

for instance: Disney…who made sequels focusing more on the lesser 2…and it didn’t turn out very well

There’s so much to Luke being the backbone. There’s a reason why it worked.

Luke was an extremely attractive young man who overcame personal hardship to fight evil to save a princess with the help of a guide. That is classic story. There is a reason that it works.

The way to recreate that is make Luke the guide, and bring in a new extremely attractive young man who needs to save another princess. Don’t mess with the formula. It doesn’t work.

And for Yoda’s sake don’t make the new female hero have sexual tension with the new villain. Talk about disturbing the force!!!

Honestly, I found Kylo Ren's emo teenagerdom more disturbing than the sexual tension between him and Rey.
