It's a matter of degrees, though. For $6k, you could spend a week at a WDW deluxe (maybe not at rack rate, but with the regular discounts) with park hopper tickets and possibly end up with money left over even after dining costs. This costs that much for 2 days.

Bingo.

Animal Kingdom Lodge: Safari View. This is always listed as the premier resort in the literature. Not as elegant as the Grand Floridian, but if you have children, I can't think of anything much more thrilling for them than to wake up to see giraffes, zebra, and wildebeest grazing right outside the window.

Since Galactic Starcruiser is opening on March 1, I set the parameters at DAK Lodge for the same. Since Galactic Starcruiser has a 1PM check-in time and a 10AM check-out two days later, I entered the same parameters.

Check in at the DAK Lodge on the afternoon of March 1, check out on the Morning of March 3.

Here's what Disney's website gave me:
Savanna-facing room for 2 adults and 2 children, packaged WITH theme park tickets. For a fair comparison, I listed one child as 10 and the other as 8....aka, one as an "adult" for ticketing purposes.

I’m wonder if there is any ambient ship noise. Will it go all night in your cabin? If the ship is attacked will we stumble like droids walking down a hall?

Now what would that cost if it was only 100 rooms and you had a two-day interactive adventure including meals and performances that regular guests have no access to?

Don't know about the performance bit, but staying at AKL allows them access to purchase tickets for the nighttime safari at $89/head (when it's running). https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/events-tours/animal-kingdom/night-safari/ There's also evening marshmallow roasting and activities. I'm not saying either of those matches what's on offer at the Starcruiser, but I think the point FettFan was trying to make is for how much Disney is charging for the Starcruiser experience versus what's on offer there, there are alternatives that will be just as impressive for many guests and for less money with the Mouse.

Edit: Ultimately, it shouldn't matter what the cost would be if AKL was only X rooms and had private performances from a guest perspective. Visitors are judging the cost by how much what's on offer is worth to them. Based on discussions here, the Starcruiser (at this point in time) is lacking that value for the asking price.

Well.... considering that you have actual animals.
Plus theme park tickets to enjoy all four parks from open to close and not just one quarter of the smallest park for a couple of hours....

I know I'm a bit of a weirdo, but I can't think of anything that has ever taken me out of an attraction more than that. I am interested to see if Disney phones in something like this in starcruiser. The box truck might be that thing!

I have to be honest, I earnestly would look into doing this just once, sometime next year if it was either really great or a total Trainwreck. I have a feeling it's going to be disappointing like reheated chain pizza but cost like it's a Michelin dining experience.

The kylo ren with the clunkier movement than the 1989 witch (if it’s working) is that kinda buzzkill for me.

can’t put a price on “magic”

I can’t think of anything not takin me out of the ride more, I mean, a voice? Indiana Jones at Disneyland obviously doesn’t have Harrison Ford. But I sure don’t care while I’m riding.

The difference is people have experienced the AKL and it's on youtube etc, the Starcruiser isn't. Some are showing genuine concerns based solely on what's been shown during marketing, even though that's not very much at all. Nobody has any idea what the actors will be like, how much participation is required or how good or bad the experience will be. Depending on whether you're going for 2 days of luxury over 2 days of fun 'playing Star Wars' will also dictate the vale for the asking price.

This hasn't stopped some declaring it a flop from practically day 1, much like 'Avatarland'. Remember that, "The land nobody wants or will go to because everyone hates the movie". Even though the movie made more than most other movies people still insisted that "Everyone hated it though". Always seems packed when I visit the land and guests seem to love at least one of the attractions, big style. Sometimes guessing how bad something is doesn't always work.
