Oh, great point! I continue to be non-worried about using a box truck for the space shuttle to the park.

There are a lot of other things to worry about with this project, unfortunately. ;)
I'll wait and see how it is when it opens. Whilst I could afford to go, I don't want to go enough to warrant spending that much money on one thing. Even if it was at $1,000 for 2 people I wouldn't, role play just isn't my thing.

I'll live vicariously through YouTube on this one. I'm splurging on an Easter Vacation this year out in Rancho Mirage.

But at that price point, and the price point of the Galactic Starcruiser, I demand the Ritz-Carlton Bed experience from 11:00pm to 10:00am, instead of Sabacc Lessons from 4:00pm to 4:30pm.

I've said a number of times that a bus wouldn't be capable of making guests believe they are flying either.
That's why I hope that bus or truck - this is your ground transport to Black Spire.
You get shuttled down to Batuu, just like you get shuttled up to the Halcyon - and will be shuttled back down to earth at the end of your stay.
All they need to accommodate this is a different video in the shuttle room.
Then, once you're on Batuu, you board this transport vehicle to the Black Spire outpost. This way it can be a bumpy, jostling ride like a bus or truck gives, and not break any illusion.
If I'm wrong, I seriously doubt how they could pull this illusion off.

Saw a report from the site which must not be named that Starcrusin’ guests are getting “Experience” passes added to their accounts to use the Lightning Lane entrance at Galaxy’s Edge attractions. Any one else able to confirm? Answers the question of how that works: you get an untimed LL pass, basically.

I feel like this is where I can't really evaluate what is on offer.

If I were going to spend that kind of money, I feel like I would want comfort, luxury, and relaxation more than anything. The last thing I would want is people hassling me to take part in organised fun.

So, if there is a market for this, it certainly isn't me and I don't really know what they want.

Yes, I said something like that a while back when I learned about the prices.
I can't imagine myself spending premium level pricing, unless I was getting a luxo experience for it.

What time do guest must board to go back To the hotel? Is the hotel and rooms soundproof from outside and inside activities? Hollywood Studio usually close off the back of the park for firework at 8/9 pm. Playing Star War Music until 11 in the main area of the hotel will upset some people sleeping schedule.

Hopefully they’re clever and incorporate this into the voyage story, the fireworks would be a good time to fly through a meteor shower, or a space battle, or something that could utilize the booms.

Dude…what do you think they’re actually put into this plan? I’d be shocked if it’s anywhere close to that…

I think they’re leaning on the land and just Mostly killing time on a budget for the rest of the 48 hours.

I know nothing about this…except this: it’s the brainchild of the stock drunk iger “just put a label on it” period…aka fancy rockwork and little to know depth of appeal. It’s been avatar and really expensive junk otherwise.

I don’t think they even know how to do a classic WDI kinda “more than the sum of its parts” anymore….it’s sealed in the Ark now.

There’s video windows in the rooms looking into space, a half decent CGI artist could probably do the art for this in a few days.

It would be a very easy (and cheap) solution to mask the fireworks noise.

One of the problems is they can’t do anything cheap…or quickly…

remember the reason that the abrams ride opened later in California is that they built part of it wrong and it took them six months to correct it. That’s about as much time as it took to build a lot of the 50 year old still kicking rides from the start of structural to completion. Takes 3 years to reroute a train track now.

Valid point...
But not from anyone who dishes out the cash needed for a WDW vacation.
What you basically just said mirrors the argument made by most Disney naysayers. Some would rather relax on a beach with drinks for a week. Others want ersatz fun and sore feet. Neither is right or wrong. I myself would much rather the Starcruiser over a Luxury resort of equal price.

It's a matter of degrees, though. For the two person price of $4.8k, you could spend a week at a WDW deluxe (they have standard deluxe rooms available for around $450 a night now with the relatively standard discount) with park hopper tickets and possibly end up with money left over even after dining costs. This costs that much for 2 days.

It needs to be pretty impressive to be worth that. Their marketing has been a complete failure and doesn't make it look worth even half that price, but of course we won't really know until it's been open for a month or two and plenty of people have gone.
