For some reason, the reactions to possible price remind me of one of Lewis Black's comedy specials: the inclusion of a personal b**l washer to follow people around (although I'm female, so something equally awesome for the ladies). The food could be set up like Discovery Cove, where you pay one price for the day and meals are included. Meals are set up at certain times. But large, extensive snack kiosks are set up in different areas where one can obtain all the cookies and chips they could possibly desire - and are never told, "no". I think that was honestly the favorite part of that experience for my boys, lol.

This is an absolute waste and pathetic.
Thanks. I thought people walking around with those birds on their shoulders at AK was pathetic. This takes the number one spot

This is very true. There were times we thought it was 7am and it ended up being 10am. You have no idea what's going on.
I did find that the virtual porthole they have on the Disney Ships helped with that quite a bit.

Personally, I like the verandah better and who wouldn't, but I would never let an inside cabin sway me from a cruise especially when it comes to the longer ones as they can save you a fair bit of cash.

And it's still not clear how things will go for a party member who is not overly excited about participating, which is inevitable.

In the presentation, we were told one can just spend the whole time watching the stars out the 'window'... if that's what one wants to spend $3k on, go for it.

But I don't think one should expect the normal amenities for passing the time at a resort because it's not a resort. It's a 2-day event that provides sleeping quarters.

2 nights? I wonder if this will force Disney to start making split stays into one reservation.

No one is "forced" into anything. If you want to do this, you can make it a 3day/2night trip and you aren't forced into anything.

If you want to spend more time in WDW, then you move from and/or to your resort of choice, which can be outside the bubble. You can stay at Bonnet Creek. You can go to Miami when done if you want. Or go the glades and wrestle gators.

If you really hate the idea of checking out of a Disney resort and checking into the SWR and then checking back into a Disney resort, you can always keep the Disney resort stay 'open' and empty the two nights you're gone from the room. If you can afford the SWR, you can easily afford to do that. ;)

I have to imagine that if this works that we will see more of these on property. I guarantee people would drop that much cash on true fairy tale adventure stay - "two days and two nights with the drawbridge raised on the moat to keep peasants out!"

...

A 2 nighter is more than likely going to involve a transition to/from another resort so for instance a welcome packet sent to your room before you leave for the next resort might be nice. The reservation system should not be logging this at two completely different reservations. You end up with two sets of everything.

On that point, I would agree with your hope that Disney doesn't count that as two reservations with two countdowns for things like FPs.

Which is what they do with a split stay now.

They might change this, but I doubt it. They have been doing a separate reservation for each booking since pretty much the dawn of time. You would have to think that there is a non-technical reason as to why.

Would be easy enough to have qsr style windows for snacks, etc. but I think the desire for food outside set meals is a different topic than “problems with a set dinner time” :)
Order from the bar in the Cantina? Room service? I don’t think you’ll starve.

Just to be clear: I'm asking this as a curiosity as I'm wondering how this will function. I'm not saying "this is a huge problem that Disney needs to solve" or any junk. Of course you won't starve.

I think some might be interpreting my questions as a concern rather than just being a curiosity about getting down in the weeds with the specifics for how everything will be run on this "ship".

It comes from when you say “you can’t just do xyz”... when that very thing is done without issue elsewhere. It comes from how it’s framed up :)

Are they seriously recycling the "hide Chewie from the stormtroopers" bit that is already in GE? There better be some droids and aliens for that kind of money.
