Ambitious. That’s all I’m gonna say about that.

Very bold and ambitious. The key here is NOT cutting the budget or else it will fail and not be worth the $3K-$7500. Even with the budget, it's going to be interesting to see the reaction from most people. This is truly for the top 5% and even then it will be interesting. I think it will do well at first. The key question is going to be how large the market is.

It could also be them doing a test balloon to see what reaction is like if it's in that price range and adjust from there.

So, seems like information is still sparse, but synchs up with what we already know/expect. I was hoping to hear more about the specific activities or how they would handle the "excursion" to Batuu.

I've got to think they won't cheap out on this in terms of entertainment and "plussing" - because with the reported cost, it had better wow people or bookings will nosedive quickly. OTOH, if this really impresses guests, then there will be a lot of positive press for Disney in the way of social media that could positive reflect the company. Yes, there will be complaints of the cost regardless, but if they can make it "worth" the cost, then this is a potential win.

At least you actually travel....you know the key component of any cruise...on water or in space.

On a "real" cruise ship, the cabins are small in order to get more people on board. Since this is not *spoiler* a real space ship, the rooms seem more reasonably sized and consistent with a hotel.

The question real becomes whether the amenities go along with the price. So far, I've been a bit disappointed by the leaks in terms of the size of the ship - for a space you'll be enclosed in for most of 2 days, there needs to be enough stuff to do and enjoy to fill the time. So, hopefully the stories and entertainment really do captivate and engage because they'll have to.

I'm also wondering how stuff like food service works because it can't just be a set time dinner theater (and I'm sure breakfast/lunch) and a smallish cantina. I have got to imagine there will be some other way to eat outside of the storyline. Is there a buffet like on a typical cruise ship?

And it's still not clear how things will go for a party member who is not overly excited about participating, which is inevitable. I agree with the point that such guests will still mostly be expected to stay on board so there has to be enough "stuff" to keep them occupied. It doesn't sound like there is a (normal) gym or a pool, etc. I guess we'll see once more details come out...

This got me wondering...
Will there be "Earth sourced tv?"
Guests are done with their day, go back to their rooms (or wake up in the morning) -is there something to watch?

I tend to think yes.

But I would hope/think there would also be a channel or two that are "in universe" broadcasts like a news show or propaganda messages.

Why not? Don’t most of Disney’s guests already eat their sit down dinner at a predefined time due to the requirement o have reservations ahead of time?

Dinner time is set on a cruise ship... people survive.

Sure, but if you want a snack at a different time, there are other options on both a cruise ship and a Disney vacation. If you are on the ship for 2 days straight (besides going to Batuu), there's going to have to be a way to get food beyond set sit down times. Maybe it will just be room service, I dunno, but it won't be "sorry, dinner time is over, see you for breakfast!"

I'm just curious as to those specifics, which of course we may not learn until people are actually "on board".

Would be easy enough to have qsr style windows for snacks, etc. but I think the desire for food outside set meals is a different topic than “problems with a set dinner time” :)

Order from the bar in the Cantina? Room service? I don’t think you’ll starve.
