the more and more I see especially the "RESIST IT REY" video makes me think Rey will stay good and its a red herring by Disney If not this is one of the worst promotional jobs ive ever seen as the promos should have shown her all nice and jedi then BAM ala "Luke I AM YOUR FATHER"

totally agree I think a lot of them have shown clever editing. Although the original star wars commercials were horrible, to me a lot of movies give away too much now.

Yeah, and Harrison Ford didn't want to play Han Solo after ESB either.

.

In his case it's a little bit different, he's at the tail end of his movie career and the only reason why he was even in TFA was to have Han killed off. Not to mention they probably backed up a truck load of money to his front door to get him to sign on.

IMHO, it will all hinge on Ridley's success after Star Wars.

I can understand an actor not wanting to be known just for a single role and only committing to 3 movies. However, if her movie career mirrors Mark's, it is a near sure ting that we will see her in the role again.

Emma Watson and Johnny Depp are proof that you can play the same, well-known character for a long, extended series of films and still have a rich & diverse acting career after. Maybe one of them can talk Ridley into not throwing in the towel after just 3 movies.

True, but it seems like for ever Johnny Depp there are a dozen Morgan Freemans, Alec Baldwins or William Shatners.

It seems that everyone who plays a part in star wars says they are done, and they wouldn't want to do anymore movies. But they all seem to want back in eventually. I can see why Daisy would say this as this is her first real movie experience. And since its star wars it has to be a bit overwhelming. There will probably be 10yrs before they would start it back up again so I'm not worried about her coming back.

I dont think they intend on making 10-12 for a long time. Id love to see what becomes of the jedi or whatever they will be but i think they will give us prequels and new stories... every year as long as we pay. I wish 7-9 had been made 87 90 93 and continued but we didnt get that, and i think they will continue that. Correct me if im wrong but if I remember right shes wasnt a star wars fan before she got the part.

Bingo.

And...unbingo?

Morgan Freeman and Alec Baldwin didn’t have diverse careers?

I would hate if Lucasfilm were to recast Rey being that she is the central character of this ongoing trilogy. However, if Daisy doesn’t want any part of the new trilogy, I guess the only logical thing to do is set Episode X into the distant future where it’ll be easily understandable as to why they had to recast the character.
