It mentions only the Disneyland Star Tours, but presumably the changes would apply to the DHS attraction also.

Yeah, Let's not use Pogo Sticks, the Power Skips they use at Block Party are much cooler.:D Plus, I'm sure you guys have heard about all the cool Indy stuff they're doing in Disneyland.

Yes I have. Just wondering if the Indy stuff at DL is a "test" of concepts that could be headed for WDW's DHS, a new land at AK or even the rumored Night Kingdom? Time will tell.

And don't worry Star Tours II will be deployed to all the parks. Guaranteed.

Would you care to elaborate on the cool Indy stuff at DL?

I know a lot of fansites have been talking about Star Tours 2 lately (and there was that Anthony Daniels interview) but this is the first official confirmation from an insider that I've seen that the project is actually in the works.

Now just praying for a miracle that they keep the story in the timeline of the original trilogy, not the prequels. Alas, with Lucas involved that will never happen.

Supposed to be meet and greets, some sort of stunt show/chase scenes with Indy and some bad guy on the roofs and all through Adventureland. I think they were changing Jungle Cruise to mention more Indy stuff and better tie the Indy ride back in. Who knows if any/all of this will actually happen or not.

While not generally one of my favorite sites, Miceage has some good coverage of the Indy stuff here: http://micechat.com/forums/blog.php?b=397

I really hope Yoda and Vader make it into Star Wars 2.0 The biggest problem with the original Star Tours is the lack of popular characters from the movie. That needs to be corrected for the remake.

If there beginning to work on it now doesn't that mean we aren't going to see it for like another two-three years? I was kinda hoping they would launch the new Star Tours sometime next year (2009).

They've been using Body Wars for testing.

They've been testing one aspect of the ride using Body Wars. There is only so much that the previous simulator pods could offer in the way of system tests considering the scale of the upgrades that are needed for the new version of the ride.

They've been working on the more technical aspects of the ride for over a year (at least in the field) while conceptual work has been going on for over two years. The film, though it may take a little bit of time to produce is probably the most minimal aspect of work regarding the project. The physical upgrades and changes to the ride are what will take the longest amount of time to complete.
