For Chicago fans it much suck that Toews and Kane are hurt. It's gotta be hard to watch your team play without those guys knowing if they were in the line up the outcome would be a little different....Wait they are playing...they just havent shown up...Wow....

Honestly Philly should have won the cup tonight. I dont care who won games 1 and 2...Philly has out played Chi every game so far.

Met some great guys from Chicago last night while at McFadden's at Citizen Bank Park....they actually were on tv a few times during the game!

They bought tickets online, hopped on a plane, had no idea where they were staying last night and were getting back on a plane this morning. Of course they were getting booed and yelled at while walking through the bar but shook our hands and wished us a good game while leaving. True fans. I do feel kinda sorry that they paid all that money and couldn't catch a W for their team...actually I don't feel bad at all...:animwink:

Hossa, the Hawks best player coming in tonight, -3 and they still drop 7.

Pronger doing his best Joe Thornton tonight... -5 and was in the bin for another. Eager was going trying to present him with the puck before the linesmen got involved.

Wednesday is going to take forever to get here.

i guess all of the whining the blackhawks did about penalties did some good. there were about 3 ridiculous calls that were ignored in the first period shellacking that took place. chicago laid it to us, but we were skating up hill against more than the hawks. seemed that "some things needed evened out for the series" was how period 1 was produced.

more blackhawk pressure than the zebras, for sure, but how can you get back in a game, when all of the physical liberties are allowed to be one-sided?

blackhawks deserved the game, but how do you know what would have happened?

the blackhawks came ready to play and the boys certainly didn't, but man, there was some one-sided non calls tonight. richards was brutally beaten after the whistle with about 2 to go in period 1. any chance of a goal seemed impossible in that period. not to mention the OBVIOUS 4 minute high sticking on briere with 6 to go, when it was a 2 goal lead....

of course i'm biased, but i'm not your typical flyer fan. i'll be the one in the crowd to say "that's a good call" when it goes against us. which is very non-philly btw. but that first period seemed as though the refs spent a good bit of time listening to the national media listening to how crazy it was that the flyers were staying out of the box. oh, and pronger deserved like forever in the sin bin for his play too. this game was about making it "even" for calls.

one thing i've noticed from this series, is that chicago fans tend to be the b!tchiest, and most whinney in all of sports! i grew up listening to all the crap philly fans spew, but i really think chi-town takes the cake!

you reap what you sow chicago, you reap what you sow.... i hope it takes another half century..... you and eagles fans don't deserve it!

Game 1 Philly got away with everything(zero penalties) and tonight the penalties called were pretty even(4-3).The story of thhis game was the fact Chicago skated circles around Philly and wanted it more. The Flyers defense looked exhausted and maybe having extra day off will help them tie it up.No matter what this has been a great series so far.

i don't want people to think i'm saying this game was decided on penalties. i actually said chicago outplayed phily- in a roundabout way. and they did! they played with more passion. but anyone who has watched the flyers in the playoffs has seen their ability to play evenly.

but if you look at that first period, chicago brutalized philly. not just in an "outplaying" type way.

great series, INDEED!

there were some major misses though. and even with chicago OUTPLAYING philly, an evenly called game would have made for a closer game all in all. if not a one goal/ tie down the stretch.

seriously, rewatch the way richards was punched/ cross checked repeatedly while in a prone position on the ice near the end of the first. not to mention the HORRIBLE missed double minor when briere was hit with an easy to see high stick in the 3rs when it was a 2 goal game. 2 pps in a row really can change things, especially when philly has a historic power play so far this post season.

just facts......

I dont know about any other Flyer fans on here but I am not nervous at all. Chicago is supposely the best team in the NHL?? hahahahhahahaha. Flyers out played them in every game but last night. Yeah they kicked the crap out the Flyers last night I'll say Pronger had a poor game and looked tired. But the Flyers get a 2 day rest now and they come back to Philly rested and will even up the series and there will be so much pressure on Chicago its stupid in game 7. The Flyers have a genius as a coach who keeps making smart moves. The goalie situation makes me a little nervous but I'm going to take the older mature FLyers team over the young nervous blackhawks team if it goes to 7 games. And for all you Blackhawk fans if there is a game 7 EAGER is going to be the death of you. Just got a feeling he is long over due for a game where he has 3 or 4 penalties because he is terrible and doesnt deserve to be on the ice. I still cant get over that he scored a goal. And he was a 1st round pick? He is just terrible I'll leave it at that. But its been a good series I have no hate towards Chicago I think there fans are cool and they will be winning many stanley cups after this year with this team because they are young and good but just not this year.Flyers in 7 and will go down as one of the best Stanley Cups and one of the best stories in sports this year! And I'll say this if Chicago wins I'll be sad that its all over but its been a great and crazy year for the Flyers and I thank them for getting this far.

LET'S GO FLYERS!!!

1. The difference in officiating from the first few rounds to this round has been pretty bad. If you sat down with a tape I bet you could find just as many missed calls for both teams. Briere taking the stick to the face was missed, but so was his on Campbell a few minutes earlier. The list is endless after 5 games....

2. I'm not sure what anyone expects Eager to do? He's doing exactly what is expected of him. Eat up some minutes, throw his body around and try to play mind games. If he makes one stupid move, he'll be on the bench. Q won't mess around.

3. If we're going to play the "what if" game, we could go in circles and probably still end up with a 3-2 series. It's a waste of breath even complaining about calls in a game that is over. I'll give anyone the first hour or so of venting immediately after the game... after that come on.

Your post came in a little over an hour after... but in the spirit of Bill McCreary I'll pretend I didn't see the time. :) After further review it's a good post.

NHL officiating is so horrible and inconsistent that if your team is the one losing you notice it a lot more because why pay attention if you're winning? They let SO much go and then call the most minor infraction imaginable and it just leaves everyone scratching their heads. Here is an idea. If someone commits a penalty...CALL IT. No mater what time of game, how little or major...Call it. Clutching and grabbing is very promptly making a come back. The NHL is always gonna be a "garage league" until Bettman is gone and guys like Mario, Wayne, Patrick, and Brett are running it. Nobody wants to turn on NBC on Sunday and watch some 6th Dman hanging all over Crosby, Ovechkin, Malkin, Kane through the neutral zone while they have the puck. That is what killed hockey in the mid 90's and its happening again.

MJ was the BEST basketball player of all time. The NBA let him be that as well. If someone sneezed near him he was taking 2 free throws. Thats how it should be...to an extent. Until that happens hockey will NEVER gain a fan that has not already been watching for 20 years, someone who hockey is in the family, or from someone who plays hockey until they clean up the stupid stuff.
