For everyone saying the aa's were back on the 30th, I think Merf did this update on the 1st of May so I am confused.. Can anyone verify they are back?

Also, I can't believe how much better Pizza Planet looks already!!!

no todayland had the old disneyland rocket jets, a cartoony peoplemover, bubbles, and more of a cartoony jetsons look.

I like this mural alot reminds me of the mural that used to be at the end of Horizons.

I don't remember the Jetsons ever looking that good.

A couple of Things

-Is it just me or is the Greek math teacher more animated than it used to be.
-I felt like the industrial back drop that was behind/infront of the paper boy was closer
- about the light thingy in the garage, maybe they thought the garage scene needed more lighting but direct lighting would have poluted the top even more.
-the narration went out just before the first scene and didn't come back on till the Phoenicians. It was heaven.

Interesting post. A few pieces of information coming out. I like the mural in the post show of SSE and I am just glad that work continues to show the ride is not complete yet. Hopefully these AA's will return to their appropriate spot. I think the paperboy and musicians are important to both those scenes...plus they have been there forever and should remain.

I like to eat at Pizza planet but think that if the Toy Story themed restaurant got relocated to Pixar Place and the old Pizza Planet building was rebranded to the Muppets, that would rule supreme!! I agree that it's time to dust off the Muppets and expand their area at the Studios. Are the characters from the roof of Pizza Planet being re-used at Toy Story Mania? Either on the building or inside the ride?

I also agree with this quote:
This is a good thing, and a sign of a commitment to progress at DHS. Hopefully they'll keep moving towards the idea of different areas of the park being themed to certain studios.

Here's to Lucasfilm Studios and Muppet Studios! :sohappy:
That would be cool to see.

I also think that the "Honey I Shrunk The Kids" play area is a no brainer to be converted into "A Bugs Life" play area. They wouldn't even have to really change anything, just a new sign and a few stationary (or animated) characters.

I want to know what Disney is going to do with the area where the Figment meet and greet was. I remember when I was working at Disney last year they made a big deal about putting in the new sign for the meet and greet and making sure Figment was there to stay. Does anyone know if something changed or are they doing this to get ready for the return of Dreamfinder, which I know would make me really happy.

That would be perfect!:sohappy: They can finally bring that "Gonzo's Pizza resteraunt" or whatever it was called that was shelved years ago. Maybe when they relocate Pizza Planet, they can really replicate it like the one in the film.

I have a theory, I think Face the wall paperboy was just a place holder. I think a new one will be coming back and will be more animated.

paperboy

That's wierd... I was there from April 19th - April 29th and I went on Spaceship Earth quite a few times and I saw the paperboy. He was facing the wall. I remember because I thought it was wierd that he was moved and was now facing the wall..... Unless he was removed after April 29th???

I hope they're doing something with the Paperboy, and not just cutting him from the show (The reported loss of his audio track makes me a little nervous). He did, however, stick out like a great big, non-animated sore thumb on my last trip.

The lighting device described in the garage scene sounds to me like a color organ, which was a few lights of different colors that would flash/change color in response to noise. They were very often set in boxes covered in frosted or hazy glass or plastic. These trippy little things were popular in the 70's, along with lava lamps and other novelty lighting. This is what came to mind when I read the description, anyway.

He was like that on March 30th as well. I figured it was his B-Show mode.

Not exactly "B Mode" because he's been like that since it reopened in December... Here's hoping he's being fixed and will be back waving his paper again soon!

Oh, and to Ghostlyguitar: When they remove an AA from a show scene in an attraction, if there's a specific audio track for that AA they typically turn it off until the AA returns. Otherwise, you'd have a random voice shouting "Extra! Extra! Read all about it..."

Was the AA(Steve Jobs??) in the garage scene at the end of the ascent always stationary? Seems kind of "eh" after some great scenes during the ascent.
