Trip Report Springin' Into WDW Solo! March 2016

I just got back from my second solo trip a couple weeks ago. I was there from March 19-24. It was a fabulous trip.

A little back story, I'm a teacher and my husband is a pastor, and since this year's Spring Break fell during Holy Week there wasn't anyway he could come with me. So I decided to travel solo again, first solo trip was last March. I want to be home for Easter so my plan was just for a Saturday-Thursday trip, in the end I wish I had spent the whole week there, but I always want more time in WDW.

Before I move on to the report here a couple links to the other two trip reports I've done recently and ever.....

So Saturday March 19th came and my husband drove me to the airport early for my 8 am flight. I had been wide awake since 1:30am, I was so excited I just couldn't sleep. The flight was pushed back an hour because of supposedly icy roads. The pilot told us the flight crew was delayed because of icy roads; I didn't quite buy that story as even though it had been lightly snowing the roads weren't bad at all. My flight was on Spirit so I was a little nervous as I had heard bad things about them, but I had a big seat in the first row and my flight, even though delayed, was very nice.

Okay, finally in Orlando and I made my way to the Magical Express. It seems as if delay was the theme of the day, we were on the bus ready to go and then we were delayed because the driver got sick. Luckily it wasn't a long delay, 5 minutes later a new driver was there and we were on our way.

And it was raining so it put a bit of a damper on arrival! Sorry for the pun, nothing could dampen my excitement!

My resort this time was the All Star Sports, mostly because it was the cheapest. To be honest for years, I have avoided the All Stars like the plague, but I stayed at the Movies last year and enjoyed it and my stay at the Sports was enjoyable too. I have a stay booked for the Music in June, so I hope my luck holds out!

My room at the Sports, a little sparse in decoration. But it was clean, very close to the bus stop, and the bed was comfortable.

I had done online check in and I got a text about 10 minutest after leaving the airport that my room was ready. I really like just being able to go to my room.

My computer is being a brat today and I can only get these three pictures to upload...but here's a little more. After the Grand Floridian I went to the Transportation and Ticket Center and went to Epcot. This would be my second park of the day...I love coming in on the monorail and getting the overview of the park. I mostly went to Epcot to get my annual passholder print before I went back to the resort for a little bit.

Okay, I was having some computer issues uploading pictures, but all seems okay now. So hopefully I can finish my report.
Continuing on with my 4 park day. I left All Star Sports after a nice nap and swim and headed to Animal Kingdom. I hadn't ever been to AK this late and I wanted to give it a try before all the night time stuff that was coming.
I thought this purple bush was pretty at the entrance/exit.

The Tree of Life area was pretty busy, and I headed to It's Tough to Be a Bug.

The line for Everest was still pretty long, so I decided to see if the tigers were active on the Maharajah Jungle Trek. They were and the komodo dragon was out too.

After the jungle trek I made my way over to Everest and the line was getting smaller. In the end I was able to ride 4 times with very little wait.

I was really diggin' the afternoon light on Everest and in the area. It cast a different hue on the area than I was used to.

After my last Everest ride I walked the long way out of the park (through Africa).

And I took a couple pictures of what I could of the Pandora Construction.

A couple more quick pictures of the at AK and I only had one more park to go to and for the first time I would have done 4 parks in one day. So after AK I went to Hollywood Studios.

I had dinner at the Tune In Lounge, I got the mom's sampler platter that had the pot roast, chicken and meat loaf. It was all good I don't know what happened to my picture of it. I only have a picture of my Sam Adam's Cold Snap beer. After I finished my meal, I only had about 5 minutes before the Star Wars Fireworks began. That was the beauty of traveling solo though, I was able to squeeze into a decent spot with no problems.

The park was still open for a bit after fireworks so I went on Tower of Terror.

Epcot had Extra Magic Hours that night and since I wasn't tired I headed over there. I took the boat to the Swan and Dolphin and walked from there. By the time I hit the far side of the Boardwalk I had beaten the boat as it was just leaving the Yacht/Beach Club dock. Once in Epcot I took a few night pictures of the topiaries and rode Mission Space before heading out for the night. It was really cool to do 4 parks but 1 again for the first time and close down 3 parks!

IMG_6625.JPG

It turned out a little blurry but it was cool to see the Characters in Flight balloon from World Showcase.

My last day of the trip finally arrived (BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!). I headed to Epcot, and had a very leisurely morning. I had already done Test Track and Mission Space so there was no need to rush to those. So while the crowds lined up at the entrance I went to the Joffrey's coffee stand and got myself a huge doughnut and a cup of coffee and waited. Once the park opened I lingered in the entry by the cool Donald topiaries. I may have been too fond of taking pictures with my coffee, but I figured next winter when I want to remember warm fun things I could look at these pictures.

I then went on Spaceship Earth.

I then headed to the Imagination pavillion, but stopped to admire the pretty yellow trees.

After Imagination I headed over to the Living Seas and I actually took some time to look at the fish. Then I decided to do the Universe of Energy as I hadn't done that in a few trips. I actually stayed awake for all of Universe of Energy this time too!

I was going to do Turtle Talk with Crush, but I just missed making it into the show and I didn't feel like waiting around for the next one.

This was the Jamaican braised beef, it was really good. I thought it might be spicy like jerk is but it had a mild spice and the beef was tender.
