Do ya'll guys make that much money up there. To have that much money to spend for a ring is WOW. Mine costs about $300.00 and I am very happy with it. :o

Well, being able to wear the wedding band alone without the engagement ring was something I definitely wanted to be able to do. (I have a feeling I wouldn't want to wear my engagement ring when I have a baby... I'd be too afraid I'd scratch the little one:() So when we picked out bands, though I liked the way they looked with the engagement ring, I ruled out bands that "hugged" it or kinda wrapped around it. Just something to think about.

I really don't have that much money...

the one I'm looking at is probably going to run me close to $6k... I don't have that... I'm just hoping living at home with my folks for almost 2 years will allow me to have saved enough to buy that and a house together...

Seriously, ask any woman (well, except for my friend Kelly...:lookaroun) and she'd say she was just happy he finally asked! The ring (size, price, etc.) doesn't really mean much. As long as you get the shape a girl wants, that's all that really matters it seems.

But why spend so much money on it then. It shows the love you have but the cost doesn't. I don't know. I think to save the money for your future is better. :o This is just my thoughts on the subject. :o

Ours might not be the popular voice here, Susie, but I'm with you.
I'd much rather have that money to put down on a house or to help pay for the wedding and honeymoon. There are really pretty rings out there for much less money. JMO.
Having said that, I don't mean to put a damper on the ring enthusiasm. I think it's great that Joe is putting so much planning into this important step. What girl wouldn't appreciate that kind of attention?
