Dot do you really need to lose weight. From the pictures I see of you, you are a bean pole. Next to you I am a watermelon. :o:cry::cry::cry:

Stop it.
I know the weight at which I am most comfortable.
Sometimes I go over that, particularly in the winter months when I don't move as much as I should. That's when I pull back and do what is necessary to get to where I want to be. I could easily gain a lot of weight, so I have to watch.

i know i'm just teasing with you

it doesn't matter anyway... i won't have nearly as much as I am planning to spend on the ring come October... won't have it in January either; might choose to finance a portion of it though if I really want to do it in Disney...
You know Joe... Don't get my wrong, I absolutely adore my ring, but DH took the 2-month salary or whatever rule and threw it out the window when he bought my ring, and I almost wished he didn't. He spent a lot of money on my ring. And it IS beautiful. But I didn't need it. I TRULY would have been just as happy with something more affordable--especially after knowing he had to make payments on in almost up until our wedding!
Since then, DH has saved and gotten me some very nice pieces of jewelry (paid in cash) and I love those. I would honestly recommend getting what you can afford now, and maybe buying a really nice anniversary band or another ring later on down the road.
Just my two cents...:o

I just wish I had some will power. I don't have any, not an ounce.:cry:

I agree...it doesn't have to be big or totally spectaular with a thousand diamonds...I have 3 diamonds in mine...all circle cut and they are decent-ish size. My ring didn't cost a fortune...however it wasn't the cheapest ring either. But I love that stupid ring...and I wouldn't want anything else. It's beautiful b/c he bought it for me.

I'll add to this (I guess that makes 4 cents?). I like pretty rings, but I wasn't interested in a big ring. I just wanted Mike to pop the question. He was finishing up college, had hardly a dime to his name, and he got me a tiny diamond engagement ring, for about $200. But I LOVED it! I didn't care that it was small, all I cared about was that he asked me.
And to be honest, I never wear it. It gets in the way of everything I need to do. So I only pull it out for special nights out, which are few and far between these days.
So I commend you for wanting to get something nice, I just think you're worrying too much about price and size. JMO.

I appreciate that a lot... I really do, plus I know allie would feel the same way...

but ya know that joke with guys about "breaking out the ruler..."

it goes along with that...

most guys just feel the need to go above and beyond when it comes to something like that... ya know?

trust me, i am by no means at all going to absolutely break the bank or anything... the problem is that say I do propose in January... I'm looking at making a down payment on a house then too...

so... It's just tough; I'm going to have two absolutely enormous things happening at once... so it just limits how much I can afford THAT month...

if I finance, I'm talking no more than a year; but likely 6 months of financing... so that, something I could have afforded 3 or 4 months later I could buy so that I can propose in January; rather then come summertime when it's not somewhere I REALLLLLLY wanna do it...

the only other options is if my parents use their Aruba timeshare in 2009 to go in October; if they go in March it'd be too soon and Allie and I wouldn't join; but if it was October we would join... that'd give me another Romantic setting to do it... but I also don't know if I want to wait another 18 months...

regardless though; i don't buy into the "2 month salary" or apparently in today's age its now "3 month salary"

i'm going to buy her something I'm comfortable buying but that I know will absolutely take her breathe away (not to sound wayyyyyyyyyy beyond corny... although I did say way beyond corny... ugh i'm stopping here because of that...)

I love all the wedding ring talk...so sweet. :)
The other day, my friends and I saw a lady with the biggest ring ever!
It was probably my college tuition + wedding + first house + first baby. :dazzle:
I love the simple rings....the huge rings aren't pretty imo.

I didn't want to sound like I don't like my ring. I LOVE it. It's gorgeous. It's more than I would have dreamed of. I just meant that it could have been .1 carats for all I cared about when he actually popped (did I spell that right...:lookaroun:lol:) the question.I was just so excited about our future together!

6 cents in now..

Pretty and meaningful doesn't have to be crazy expensive. Take a look at rings that are half the price of what you had in mind. You might be surprised to find something that is just right.

this is exactly what I just got done telling my buddy...

(wow did it just sound like I came outta the closet... it did!)

anyway, he's been with his gf as long as allie and I... and he's proposing soon... and he wanted to get like all top notch in the 4 c's... i've done my research and I told him a bit about them; and he thought he had to go big or go home in all of them...

anyway... comes back with a 1.51 carat $10k ring... and I was just like "dude, that's ridiculous... you do not need to spend that"

Good thing I realized you were talking about M&M's finally - I had to go back and see what you were talking about.:lol::lol:
:lol::lol::lookaroun

I try but I feel like I have to exercise all day to lose a pound. I hate exerciseing.:brick:
Do you like cereal?
My grandpa just went on the Special K diet and lost 6 pounds in one week.
And he doesn't exercise...although that is important.
