“This is the way“ you make good Star Wars.

Wow. Just wow. The only downside is I can’t binge a whole season!!!

Really excited we’re getting more Baby Yoda. Really interested to see where this goes for getting answers about the species.

Edit: Just found out Deborah Chow, the director of this episode, will also be doing the Obi Wan series. Heck yes!!!
Yes, yes, and of course, YES! The only downside I can see, is if this doesn't pay off in rise of skywalker. Because I still believe the overall implications of this series are huge. This episode was awesome, the mando reminded me of batman escaping with the baby. I started the episode ticked, and then was cheering when he went back. It's SO good. You know it's a win when the episode ends, you're mad you have to wait a week for the next one.

IMHO, the series is putting the last two feature films (TLJ & Solo) to shame.
The reason is simple. It isn't trying to be the smartest guy in the room. It's trying to be star wars. It is embracing so much of what the Disney movies have ignored. Just having legacy aliens alone makes this series feel more star wars than any Disney era film. Rouge one is the movie that feels the most star wars. And this, especially in the flashbacks, has that same feel to it, only ramped up a few notches.

Agree that Rogue One is the best of the post-Lucas releases. The Force Awakens wasn't bad, it just missed the mark as the bridge between the end of the Empire after RoTJ and the rise of the First Order. Less "let's re-shoot A New Hope" and more what the Mandalorian is doing is what I was hoping for.

It’s clearer than ever before that George should’ve put Dave Filoni in charge before he sold to Disney. He was already working closely with him anyway showing him what made Star Wars what it is. If that happened maybe the sequels would be getting the same near unanimous praise that this show is getting because someone who actually knows what they’re doing would’ve been in charge.

Lucas obviously put the wrong person in charge, but that's because he thought he would still be in charge of the creative side. I put all the blame squarely on Iger. He should have NEVER let this franchise loose without someone in charge of the vision. It's cliche at this point but Iger should have known, more than anyone, how important having their Feige for star wars is.

If you had the creative vision of Filoni and Favreau on the sequels, who knows how fantastic it could be. I can only imagine how epic force awakens would have been with John and Dave writing and producing, and JJ directing. For all the garbage JJ gets, the look of feel of force awakens is spot on. He was mandated soft reboot and that was a mistake. I would have loved to see what he could have done with real creative leadership.

Lets all just hope this show keeps getting stronger, keeps getting the unanimous praise. It's already an eye opener for Disney. So I just hope it continues.

Kathleen Kennedy may be a good studio head in the administrative area, but she isn't in the creative arena. I keep thinking back to Walt and Roy (or Eisner and Wells). Superb fit with the creative and practical. And in the case of Eisner and Wells, one becomes lost when the other is gone.

I'm probably in the minority on this, but I think Iger completely cutting Lucas out after the sale was a mistake.

If y'all like The Mandalorian, you should be watching The Clone Wars and Rebels. While not every episode is a masterpiece, it has all the Star Wars goodness you crave.

A new and final season of Clone Wars is coming to D+ on Feb 2, 2020. It will include The Siege of Mandalore.

But if you do watch Clone Wars, watch the episodes in chronological order:

Yes. Ive always said Lucas is a great idea guy, but he really needs that balance. Someone to check him when he goes off the rails. That's why Empire worked so well and the prequels had issues. I'm sure that is why the Mandalorian has turned out so well. Not only do you have a collaboration between 2 people who love and know star wars. All the directors have been collaborating as well.

I look forward to going through Clone Wars besides the few times I caught reruns. Just need the Disney + app to get released on Switch so I can go full hog. Right now I can only watch it on the living room TV.

I was really looking forward to the third episode. Unfortunately, I don't really want to watch it on my phone, and since last night all I've been getting is error code 83 on the roku app, and error 1017 on the Samsung app (Samsung TV app). I waited 90 minutes to chat today. The person I chatted with took down my IP address in order to add it (??). Said s/he was going to escalate the tv issue. I was asked if I had a gaming system I could use. When I responded no, the chat was ended.

I've had no issue with the Roku app on either the Roku Ultra or Streaming Stick+. I too have a Samsung Smart TV and no issues with that app.

Have you tried logging out of and back in to your Disney+ account? You might also try deleting and reinstalling the app.

Thank you for the suggestions. I've actually tried those, except for logging out of my account, because I can't log into the Disney app on my computer, and I can't get into the app at all on the TV. When I click on the log-in button on my computer, nothing happens. I don't get a log-in box. I was finally able to talk to Support this afternoon. She said they have a dedicated team working on these issues w/ the various error codes, and she said she escalated the ticket, so hopefully it will be fixed before long. She said 2-5 days, but hopefully sooner. The weird thing is, Disney+ has worked fine for me up until yesterday. So not sure what happened.

Umm, interesting. I wonder if you are one of the unlucky ones whose account was compromised.

On the other hand, I also think it has to be something with my wifi. I'm at school working (I'm a teacher) so I decided to see if I can log in here and I can. Apparently I could watch it on my computer here if I wanted. 😉 And I can watch it using mobile data at home. Hopefully their "team" can figure it out.

Sounds like something in your browser security may be blocking access to the site. You might need to add the website as a trusted site. I'd also check whatever antivirus software you are using to see if it's restricting access.
