Midnight Sons, if you believe other Youtube hype. That is why you can hopefully expect to see a few other key characters like Black Knight(already introduced in Eternals) and Ghost Rider, and already announced Blade.
I'll believe it when I see it, while I can appreciate speculation most of those Youtubers go off in tangents that don't ever make sense or aren't based in the reality of what we actually see when the show or movie comes out.

I'm curious if he's usable at WDW. He's been an Avenger, but I think only a West Coast one so it depends on how broadly the "family" is defined.

Almost every Marvel super has been on an Avenger team in their life; it's like Marvel jury duty.

If a short-term stint in an Avenger title excluded that character from WDW according to the Uni contract, then no super would ever be allowed in WDW. But, the original contract envisioned that there would be many other characters. So, being part of "Avengers family" could not have been construed broadly enough to exclude all characters, but an more intimate relation is presumed.

Also part of the original contract is a use-or-lose clause. Uni once had the opportunity to grab literally hundreds and hundreds of characters for their parks, but stuck with the handful of "families" it originally chose. And so, they can't lay claim to more characters than what has already appeared in their parks unless that character is very closely tied to one in use.

On top of that, we've been told that there was an updated contract which was more specific about what can and can't be used by WDW, and we don't know the contents of that. So... we can't be sure of anything until that character appears in WDW. And so far, GotG and Doctor Strange has appeared in WDW. And that's about all we know about what can be done around the fringes of The Avengers.

it was a fun episode. a little darker than other marvel D+ shows, but had a sense of humor too. drove me a little nuts as to who was the actor as the voice in his head. had to google that as i was watching. thought i heard there’s only 6-7 episodes. hope it doesn’t drag.

I've seen this brought up a couple times about an "updated contract'. But where is this coming from? There has been no real reporting on it and not even any rumors out there that I've seen.

So where was is this idea that there has been an updated contract between Uni/Disney regarding Marvel theme parks rights coming from?

I remember someone trustworthy mentioned it, but I can't remember who... sorry.

I've done a search here on this site, and on Google and can't find any reference to an updated contract. Only the reference to the original Uni/Marvel contract that pre-dates Disney.

So unless otherwise confirmed by either Disney or Uni, I would suggest we just assume the original contract is still in effect.

I’m a semi-kinda fan of the character in the comics. It’s usually pretty good.

Eh…I’m not feeling this one so far, and that may have to do with my prior involvement with the comic, I freely admit. It seems people not familiar with the character seem to enjoy it more, and that’s ok. I guess screen wise, Split is a much better version of this.

Remember we're only a year into Marvel being in any domestic Disney Park in any significant way with Avengers Campus.
Marvel has had plenty of presence at DLR going back to the Super Hero HQ in Tomorrowland with the Iron Man suit display and themed meet and greets with Spidey, Cap and Thor along with prop displays from the films. The Thor experience there of being "transported" to Asgard was particularly fun and the throne room was awesome.

But it really took off in DCA where it's had a strong representation since 2017 starting with the Summer of Heroes that introduced Guardians of the Galaxy - Mission: BREAKOUT!, the GOTG Awesome Dance-Off! and a dozen meet & greet characters along with other smaller shows and presentations, movie previews, costume displays and photo ops (including for the Disney+ shows). There were plenty of times over the past five years where there were more Marvel characters in DCA than Disney & Pixar characters combined.

At DLR, Marvel's presence has been significant for years - adding Avengers Campus with WEB SLINGERS just plussed it up. At WDW is where they've had to squeak in the small stuff like the Doctor Strange street show, the Star-Lord & Baby Groot meet, the Epcot GOTG concert show, etc. until the upcoming Cosmic Rewind debut.

Turning back to Moon Knight - his appearance at Avengers Campus is super cool even if it's limited in scope thus far. I just love that they're keeping the Campus constantly updated and refreshed with these new character appearances!

Ep2 was good, but I can already see how the story is going to slow down in Ep3.

I like this version of Mr Knight, hopefully Steven gets to be more in the action so Mr Knight can come out more.

I'm enjoying the tone of this - the humor mixed with action - it reminds me of The Mummy films for more than just the Egyptian backdrop. Also reminds me of some 90's comic book films like The Phantom (so underrated) and The Rocketeer, along with a touch of Romancing the Stone. And oddly, I get flashes of 1940's comedies, too...

But, whether it's the accent or not, I simply don't buy Oscar Isaac as a bumbling, timid nerd. He's just too... virile. He works much better as Marc. When he's Steven, I keep having moments of thinking how great Danny Kaye would have been in the role as written. Which is weird, yeah, but he was someone who could believably pull off the extremes of goofy and cocky in the same film, along with being brilliant at spewing dialogue faster than you could follow it. Plus that would've been a Jewish actor in the role. Anyway... /timetravelcastingtangent

Ethan Hawke also seems to be trying just a bit too hard to be acting the role rather than just relaxing into being in the role. But he's not bothering me really. Other than the hair. Not as egregiously awful as Jack's coif and 'stache in Hawkeye though.

Looking forward to the next ep!

Avengers are a no go…pretty broad umbrella there

Wdw will never have a significant marvel presence
West Coast Avengers are technically a separate team, an expansion team if you will. So they technically aren't part of the main Avengers "family", at least based on the contract.

So since Moon Knight has never been part of the main Avengers team, he might be able to be used.

Also never say never, Disney just hasn't been willing to really try to get back those rights. So far just trying to work around the edges of the contract. Money speaks volumes, those right will come back at some point, just a matter of time and money.
However we have Doctor Strange in Florida even though he has many connections with the Avengers. The Marvel situation in Florida really is odd.

Don’t forget The Eternals! They had a tribute back in 2019, and a preview in 2021 at Walt Disney Presents. And technically Big Hero 6 while animated still a Marvel comic.

Since there is a shift of introducing newer characters who knows maybe we’ll see more of characters like Kamala Khan and American Chavez neither of which existed when IOA opened.

That term “family” in the Marvel/Uni contract has always been a grey area open to interpretation. I’m sure there is a list somewhere within the walls of both TDO and Uni of the characters approved that can be used within WDW under the contract.

But like I said money talks and that contract will go away at some point.

A little more obscure, but when they set up the Dr. Strange show at DHS, they also had a reference to Daredevil by having a building saying Murdock & Nelson Law or something like that. Not sure if that means Daredevil is usable, but it wouldn't surprise me if he were (and he's apparently going to be a continuation or reboot series).

…it would be from the Comcast side.
