We're dealing in rumors - if you hold your breath waiting for 'proof' via Disney links on rumors.. you are in for a rough ride. You'll need to make your judgements (or disprovings) with something else besides confirmation from Disney on things they haven't confirmed...

It's only one poster saying it.. and he also said 'or at least its being included...' in the media event, which isn't really unfeasible.

Gotta disprove 'em with things that are actually obtainable - not demand the unobtainable and then say 'See, ha! you couldn't do it'

The way it was written was not a way which would indicate rumor. I'm well aware of how rumors work. Something like a grand opening would not be a rumor at this point, if they had a date that close, it would be released somewhere and that's what I was trying to figure out.

Again, I was not saying "see, ha! you couldn't do it" Given a very specific claim, I was trying to figure out if Disney had in fact released something so I could report it to other people who write about these things.

So no exterior dress.. but that could be done fast.. and unforutnately doesn't give us much in the way of how far the interior has progressed. Wonder if Disney will stage food externally to give out (since food/bar really is the push for this place) and then have walking tours. Seems feasible to me..
Interior is further along than the exterior, so still looking good for Dec.

As of last week, there was absolutely no exterior wall around the entire main entrance area, none whatsoever. The drapes on the scaffolding weren't as well in place as they look to be now which is how I could see so much. It looked like they had the rest of the building walled off just beyond the escalator, so they could be far along on the interior, but the "front" of the building was little more than bare structural steel. They'd have to move at Transformer speed I would think to finish that front entrance area in time.

The Splitzville website states "Fall 2012" as opening lol.

Since the last day of Fall this year is December 20th (first day of winter is Dec. 21st) - wouldn't that still be accurate if it opens December 7th?

I sure hope it does open on the 7th. I have a show literally 15 feet from it at Pop Gallery that next weekend and it would be awesome to get that extra traffic!

I don't see why they'd have already hired people if they weren't opening until spring.

But I have no idea when they're opening.

I'm eager to see it, but not looking forward to going there on a regular basis or anything. I have no desire to pay Disney prices to go bowling. But it will be fun to see/do once! :)

Sunday afternoon they had at least four or five guys just working on the entrance. Also, they were receiving food deliveries in the back (Flippers pizza supplies, interestingly enough, probably the best chain pizza in Florida). I still would think they would want to have a couple nights of soft opens, to get their staff up to speed.
