Now imagine they redo Pirates Of The Caribbean....and the Pirates have spun their Auction scene into a huge auction business. It is now the Caribbean Auction House Inc...Disney sends the imagineers to Kingston Jamaica to hire artists to paint modern murals on the outside of the building and they record a new reggae score...lol

Can we assume the auction business is an employee owned retail cooperative?

Watching video of the big new Zootopia ride in Shanghai does not give me any confidence in this redo - Disney is absolutely stuck in the "one AA in front of a wall" philosophy and has been for decades.
Only thing giving me hope is the fact you can’t quite do screens on the level of something like Zootopia with a log flume. It’s the trackless ride system that falls victim to the trend of stopping in front of an IMAX screen for minutes, while here you’re moving at constant speed through a winding flume. The ride system already present makes it difficult for them to get away with major screen usage, if anything the concern should be focused towards more barren show scenes with one or two impressive AAs

Seems Universal and Disney have traded places.
Universal went all out on Secret Life of Pets, and Disney's gone screen crazy with Zootopia, Rat, etc...

Even if Disney adds only one good animatronic, at least the storyline of the Native Americans is accounted for.

Secret Life of Pets is an anomaly, so it's a real stretch to go that far. Most new Universal attractions have few if any animatronics, and I would be surprised to see many at Epic Universe based on the known attractions, though I would be happy to be corrected on that.

That said, Disney is definitely using fewer animatronics lately, and the more complex ones that they do use can be annoyingly unreliable.

I realize Secret Life of Pets is an anomaly for Universal.
It's the type of thing Disney used to do all the time however.
As much a I cheer for Disney and like WDW far more than Uni, it's been a long time since WDW did anything close to Secret Life of Pets, and it doesn't look like they plan to break that trend.

I'm quite confident that Tiana won't be nearly as screen reliant as Zootopia, and is supposed to still have a very large animatronics population. I'm not the only person who has stated this about the AA quantity either.

Those new kinds of synchronized projections wouldn't really be possible to do with Splash's ride system, which is not being altered. The boats do not travel in a computer controlled sort of way. Even the boats used for Shanghai's POTC are tethered to a track and can be precisely moved around, turned and manipulated to accurately time everything with the video projections.

Tiana should be a more traditional ride and is allegedly much lighter on major room-stealing video projection than nearly anything they've built in multiple decades. At least based on what I was told by a source a year ago right before construction began. To reiterate what I said many many pages ago, this source is furious that they went through with the decision to replace Splash in the first place and wishes it had been canned. They were also very negative about the Tiana ride early on before a finalized budget and plan had been locked in. But at the same time, whatever they heard and saw last year following D23 (and no, it wasn't anything shown publicly, they were and still are keeping a lot of info and details quiet), it was impressive enough to make them do a 180 and think this could be a worthy successor on its own merits. Take that however you will though as it's the opinion of someone else. I will wait and see myself.

Incidentally, I've also heard rumors that some of Universal's future projects will be more physical than their recent content. I don't know if this is true of the current roster of opening attractions for Epic, but there are further plans in development that show some real promise.

I heard from someone on Twitter that they apparently trashed all the old America Sings animatronics at the DL location, I'm assuming the same happened to the WDW ones as they don't fit the more generic animals TBA is slated to have.

Sorry if this has been said before, but I've been thinking about how out of place Splash Mountain was in its original incarnation. There's been a lot said about how the new theme is out of place in Frontierland but so was the old theme. Prior to Splash Mountain there was a gradual transition west beginning in Liberty Square and ending at the train station.

It has, its all due to Magic Kingdom having a Disneyland problem.

Somebody else replied earlier "that ship has sailed" for being out of theme when Splash was built and opened in 1992.

Did they really put that much consideration into it? I’ve always thought Frontierland’s main goal was to immerse you in a “Disnified” world of 19th Century America. It’s why the river is called “Rivers of America”. There never seemed to be a strict location they pulled from but there was consideration (even with Splash) to have general visual cohesion. Much is the case with Adventureland (which pulls from South America, South Pacific, and Africa).

Tiana’s contradictions come not necessarily from the IP, but the changes they decided to make to the facade. Had they gone with something more similar to the original art piece (minus the Boat) I think there wouldn’t be much to criticize. There’s also a concern that the ride skews more close to urban 20th century (as opposed to rural 19th century) but we shall see.
