They may have done some minor welding to shore up what was already there, but I don't think they ended up replacing any parts. The crews did indeed believe that they were going to do a full track replacement, they even marked a ton of areas on the support beams with yellow paint that were intended to be cut. Marks that can still be seen to this day when the work lights are on. I think the estimation was that it would be closed for 24-30 months. There was a last second change of plan.Nothing. I think they thought they were going to, and then stopped.
In an attempt to prolong the life of the aging track, they also installed trim brakes back in 2013 that were intended to reduce the amount of wear and tear the vehicles exert on the aging track structure. It had the unfortunate effect of making the ride even more rough, and also slowed it down significantly. This is most noticeable on the drops.
