Thought it may be fun to list out what I hope this ride can achieve or do, which will ensure I enjoy the attraction, and see it as a worthy successor to Splash.

  • Fun, catchy songs and musical score.
  • Beautiful scenery, richly detailed.
  • Impressive AA's, with plenty of simpler figures as well. Does not necessarily need to be as many as original Splash, but I would still like it to feel full of life. Really comes down to staging.
  • Special effects that are impressive and theatrical.
  • Fireflies. Fireflies everywhere.
  • An easy to follow storyline.
  • Just plain fun.

What do you need for this ride to be a success?

Tiana already has a cartoon coming to Disney+. I 100 percent guarantee Tiana will eventually get a live action movie.
Is there anything more palpable than obscure rumors of her getting a live-action adaptation like the other princesses? Plus, receiving a D+ show is not proof of being a popular character. "Eco," which just released, was based on a completely unknown character...

Disney doesn't spend money to make more shows/rides/restaurants/merchandise for characters they don't believe are popular.

Tiana's not recieving all these things because people don't like her or her movie. Come on, now.

I am merely commenting that the statement "Splash Mountain's plot didn't make any sense anyway" is a strategy by those who support the retheme to try to make the mindbogglingly strange teases they've released seem less strange.

This is an amazing thought process.

Tiana is so popular that she is one of the few princesses that didn’t receive a movie sequel nor a live-action remake (even Moana from 2016 is getting one!).

This is nonsense.

Tangled and Brave (the two movies most temporarily correlated) haven't either. Moana is and was weird, but they are also doing that because she is the most popular princess right now. Tiana, Brave and Tangled are all fodder for the live action remakes - but Disney seems like it is retesting the fad with Moana. If that one falls flat they are probably done milking the remake trend.

No one is arguing Tiana is the most popular princess. She's a princess and most of them eventually get parks recognition. How do I know Tiana is popular? Because she's a princess. Because she's getting a ride. Iger doesn't add things to the parks for his love of theme park artistic merit, he adds them for money and the forward promotion of 'the brand'. To which Tiana has belonged to 'the princess brand' for a generation now.

When it comes down to it, this bizarre assertion that Tiana is not popular enough to have an attraction is easily debunked by the fact that they are building one RIGHT NOW, as we speak.

Nothing is done to the parks on a whim, there is a demand for a return on investment and a safe investment at that. Disney is a massive conglomerate. If you don't think research was done in anticipation of this change, then you are very mistaken. This weird debate happening over whether Tiana and The Princess & The Frog are good enough or memorable enough for an attraction of this scale is baffling to me. Plus, as we are seeing now, the company has clearly made its decision.

I can guarantee that this cow is still going to be milked for a very long time.

Now that the Disney catalogue is available through streaming on Disney+ they need a way to bring in the money. What better way than to recreate live action versions (and remakes/sequels) of their popular back catalogue.

There's already a Lion King/Mufasa prequel out this year, as well as Snow White in development hell, The Sword in The Stone, The Aristocats & Moana. That's all I can think of right now, but they definitely aren't stopping here. You'd think/hope they would just due to the fact that a majority of these live action remakes have been absolutely dire/pointless, but we're dealing with a company that cares about nothing more than profit and any kind of focus on story and originality has just fallen by the wayside. Sad times indeed.

Tiana will get her own live action movie at some point. I'd bet money on it!

Well themed sets, a good amount of animatronics & some of the good music from the movie. Limit the usage of screens. That's what they need to do to live up to Splash.
