I realize that Disney has done little to gain our confidence lately, but I am confident they understand the gravity of this attraction. Not necessarily because of how popular Splash Mountain was but because it's an E-ticket attraction in their most visited theme park. If it weren't a Magic Kingdom attraction, I'd be more concerned.
YEp - last night you can feel how much people loved this ride! Thing is admission goes up and we have less to ride! We need more for crowds.. There is a ton of room behind BTM for a new ride and adventure - Youtube - The Daily Woo -

I'm not concerned about how they are going to work a big drop into a storyline set in a place below sea level - just say they were on their way to Tiana's Restaurant and encountered one of our famous Big Easy potholes!

Perspective is a good thing. We’re talking about theme parks, and theme parks are entertainment. The new version of Splash will hopefully be wonderful and bring joy to new generations. I’m sorry you found my comments obnoxious, but I try to be realistic, and I try to do so without using insults, pigeon-holing or accusations.

No one likes seeing their favorite ride close. And new ideas deserve a chance.
You write that as if theme parks are insignificant and not worthy of our passion.

Maybe go to an art forum and suggest that painting over the Mona Lisa would be no big deal. It’s just some oil on a canvas after all.

I'm cautiously optimistic that Bob Iger will give the Splash Mountain retheme into Tiana's Bayou Adventure the budget it deserves. If they replaced the initial version with something that felt crappy and low-budget, there would be a backlash. And Iger — who does not want to seem racist at all — isn't going to want to look like he's giving Tiana a cheap ride.

The new version was largely designed and budgeted under Chapek. Final design, certainly.

Well one thing is for sure. No matter how good the concept art looked, do not expect that at all

All the prework, budget, planning ,etc for this was done under the Chapek era. So we're kind of waiting to see what comes of that. Iger came in way to late to have any sort of impact. Also maintenance beyond the Honeymoon phase is key.

We all hope that Bob Iger allows the creative folk to be creative and disallow any cost cutting.

Just thought it would be nice to share this here. In one of my Disney fan groups, someone took a trip to visit someone we Splash fans admire:

This may be the death of his legacy in the US. RIP James, you put a lot of heart into your performance, but you were done dirty man.
