Update: Has reopened
I am on it right now, the logs are stopped and work lights are on. They keep saying we will be moving soonAs per the site we don't say: Splash is down once again
Has anyone explained why ours is gone today and yet Disneyland still has theirs? I may have missed that in 584 pages. Sorry.
Attractions Magazine is reporting that WDI was seen riding Splash Mountain during some recent downtime. All were wearing earpieces attached to a portable audio device presumed to be listening to work in progress attraction audio. They were seen pointing at scenes and AAs. Charita Carter, Ted Robledo and Carmen Smith were seen in this group.
The running theory is since Indy is down they want to keep it open until that opens back up from refurbishment.Has anyone explained why ours is gone today and yet Disneyland still has theirs? I may have missed that in 584 pages. Sorry.
Sounds about right. Splash in Florida goes down this time of year anyways and they will have TRON to pick up the slack this Spring close to when it would normally reopen (close enough anyways). The running theory is since Indy is down they want to keep it open until that opens back up from refurbishment.
This is going to be like Harmonious. Too big to fail until it does.
They'll need screens for the attraction, and those screens will be available soon, so maybe. They're going to put the tacos on the mountain?

That makes way too much sense for Disney to do these days.Personally I would have waited until after Easter weekend (April 7-10, also after the opening of TRON and the end of the 50th) to close Splash here.
They have the opportunity to build off of a groundbreaking attraction which captivated and delighted so many guests over the past 30 years. They're going to put the tacos on the mountain?
You forget their timeline, they are expecting (I know yeah right) this refurb to be >24 months. Closing now only misses one Christmas Week.Personally I would have waited until after Easter weekend (April 7-10, also after the opening of TRON and the end of the 50th) to close Splash here.
They are banking on the short attention span of guests to forget Splash even existed when Tron opens. They don’t need a distraction to their latest ACTIVATION.That makes way too much sense for Disney to do these days.
Wonder what the Vegas odds are on this sticking with that timelineYou forget their timeline, they are expecting (I know yeah right) this refurb to be >24 months. Closing now only misses one Christmas Week.
Different timelines? They want this reopened in less than 24 months as another poster mentioned. Closing it now barley gives them enough time to get it open by Christmas 2024. I would assume they would realistically like it open by Thanksgiving 24 the latest. There’s also more attractions under refurbishment at Disneyland.Has anyone explained why ours is gone today and yet Disneyland still has theirs? I may have missed that in 584 pages. Sorry.
They’ll be distracted by all the other construction of new things coming soon too. They are banking on the short attention span of guests to forget Splash even existed when Tron opens. They don’t need a distraction to their latest ACTIVATION.
Surprisingly, the Kylo AA has been in A-mode more than B-mode for the past couple months. Idk what they did, but ever since like September-ish, the reliability of that AA and scene vastly improved. How often is Kylo Ren and the cannons in B-mode on ROTR?
