i think they’ve done a good job on the latter point - asserting the new ride will be impressive. But none of their statements acknowledge the greatness and significance of the ride. It’s being memory holed, when it comes to the song, the merchandise, or the film itself.I wish Disney gave even the slightest impression they know how important the ride is and how vital it is that the redo be incredibly impressive.

I don't think it's "Splash shouldn't be honored because we hate it", more "If we mention the old theme again things are gonna just flare up again and we don't wanna deal with that"i think they’ve done a good job on the latter point - asserting the new ride will be impressive. To the extent they’re not giving the impression they care about how important the ride, I believe it’s because they don’t believe it is a ride that should be celebrated or honored.
I'm curious if the Tiana ride is going to have a hidden Splash Mountain easter egg reference or if it's going to be so memory holed that they won't even consider it deserving of that.i think they’ve done a good job on the latter point - asserting the new ride will be impressive. At least they still have the penny press machines for splash souvenirs. I got all of them my last trip
Memory holing. I'd bet anything.I'm curious if the Tiana ride is going to have a hidden Splash Mountain easter egg reference or if it's going to be so memory holed that they won't even consider it deserving of that.
If eagle-eyed guests know just where to look, they might be able to spot the hidden mountain, drop, ride layout, and logs from Splash Mountain.I'm curious if the Tiana ride is going to have a hidden Splash Mountain easter egg reference or if it's going to be so memory holed that they won't even consider it deserving of that.
There's plenty of frog AAs to repurpose.I'm curious if the Tiana ride is going to have a hidden Splash Mountain easter egg reference or if it's going to be so memory holed that they won't even consider it deserving of that.
Well they made 8 bucks out of me alone... And those penny press machines specifically in the gift shop and next to the playground for Splash had people loitering around waiting for other people to move away from the machines. They are definitely in constant use.I would love to know how much Disney had made off of those Splash pennies in the past year. Sales have to have sky rocketed.
It’s being redone because of guilt by association. There will be no memorials or head nods.I'm curious if the Tiana ride is going to have a hidden Splash Mountain easter egg reference or if it's going to be so memory holed that they won't even consider it deserving of that.

100% That's what they're doing. I don't see any way that the entire laughing place section isn't this scene.I had this recently brought to my attention, it's possible they're gonna use *Dig a Little Deeper* on the lift hill. Think about this screenshot, the angle of the shot, and the bottles we saw on the model at d23.

On a side note -- I don't see pressed penny machines used nearly as often anywhere else as they are for Splash, and ironically, Country Bear Jamboree. Its kinda funny.
we were robbed of having a dr. facilier-themed dropI had this recently brought to my attention, it's possible they're gonna use *Dig a Little Deeper* on the lift hill. Think about this screenshot, the angle of the shot, and the bottles we saw on the model at d23.

Where's it going to go? Pecos Bills?View attachment 691498
California's Tiana's Place was announced. I wonder how long until WDW follows suit and announces one of their own.
I still maintain they should build one back where the Restrooms are now, and retheme the whole Splash Queue Courtyard to a Mini New Orleans Square - best way to commit to the theming without disrupting the existing thematics of Frontierland's main drag.Where's it going to go? Pecos Bills?

Sketch is mine, not Disney's:

That space wouldn't be impacted by the Railroad, unless you mean Big Thunder, which has a maintenance bay nearby but could be avoided. There's also a retention pond that might need to be moved along with the restrooms, and who knows if they'd be open to any of that. This is beautiful!
But is there enough space there for a full restaurant without further impacting the railroad?
