I wonder if they're actually gonna leave that corner of the Mountain untouched.

I actually missed that front-facing piece of concept art entirely somehow. Whereas the model shown at D23 is the Disneyland version of the ride with its single file logs, the front-facing day/night concept art shown is WDW's. The boats are the double seaters and the red clay is still present on it.

Still looks fairly awkward without the tree atop it, it's a darn shame they got rid of that. Even if it wouldn't have supported the boat (though I wonder how accurate that rumor was anyway).

While Princess and the Frog is definitely not a great fit, I think The Muppets is probably worse unless they're basically just hosting something completely topically independent of The Muppets themselves. Anything that frames the Rivers of America should, in my opinion, speak to a specific American place as viewed through the lens of Americana.
I mean the Muppets appeared in Liberty Square. The cast is versatile you can put them in almost any genre and make it work. However it is a moot point since Tiana's is the theme they chose. I just hope the ride is good for those looking forward to it.
