I absolutely LOVE Splash Mountain and will miss it a ton... But this looks amazing. Lots of potential with the songs.
Not sure what this means? I think you’re calling me a racist. Which, I mean, that would be something.Question. If you took down Splash Mountain, would it still be?
When they designed the Parks Reservation system?Well, to be fair, I believe it's been a year. When is the last time WDW put together designs and plans in a month?
They’re not remotely ready to start work.
I'm guessing an absolute minimum will be changed. In this way corporate Disney's love for cost-saving will dovetail with a desire to pander to both sides ("To those who loved Splash, this is really the same ride but with a new soundtrack and some characters added").Something will have to. I am not sure how large of a re-theme this will be be, but it will be costly. SM is a huge ride with tons of show scenes. My bet is Epcot takes the brunt of the cuts.

Stalin, not Marx.
Just here for the meltdowns.
Ya'll in Florida aren't ready, they changed Tower of Terror out here despite big fan push back. They've announced this, they aren't going to turn back the clock now.
It will still be an incredible attraction, with characters and music that is truly wonderful. Love love love it.
The announced change is not a slippery slope toward removing the Partners statue or demolishing Port Orleans Riverside (as some have suggested).
Have you been to the parks lately... packed as ever and lots of younger millennial who are leading the charge with change. So that "screaming minority" has spending & marketing power to TWDC
Walt approved it?! That's it! I've had enough of that statue in the middle of the park! It's coming down!Let´s not forget that the MAIN CAST DIDN´T THOUGHT THAT THE FILM WAS RACIST and Walt approved it.
What upsets me the most is that they have the budget to do this, but not to bring their furloughed staff members back? Or do all the projects they announced for Epcot? I thought they were crying poor?
It’s called the Sunshine State for a reason, you know.
So $250 million to the re-theme it ?I'm guessing an absolute minimum will be changed. At this time I don't think they've announced anything for Tokyo.I assume Tokyo Splash Mountain is NOT changing, correct?
But shouldn’t we all have “been there”?I think for a lot of us, this takes it to a whole new level/extreme. I know you were already there, but...
The only reason anyone would know that it isn’t set on a plantation is knowing the film’s release date. Literally nothing else. Not only that, unless you read the book, there is no way you see that movie's plantation scenes and know if its during slavery or not, They chose to not be explicit with this. And the implication is that Uncle Remus is just so darn happy to help those white folks as best he can and maybe even wistful for "old days".
In Princess and the Frog, I don't think anyone who views it sees Tiana's friend as anything more than a spoiled rich girl that is totally unaware of her privlege and the film is pretty explicit in how nothing is GIVEN to this young black girl trying to work her way up.
